It's got to start somewhere
As we all know, we suffered a great loss in the election 11/2004 when a lot of shit was presented from the right on John Kerry's service in Vietnam. Not only was that shit false, it unduly affected the election, making people doubt Kerry's service record, rather than having people remember that George didn't EVEN SERVE. Karl Rove's master plan to taint the Democratic race was in full force, and we paid the penalty for it.

A friend told me that the election was "too early by a year" and that if the race were held November, 2005, the outcome would likely have been very different. And I agree.

But now, it's time we ALL got the clue, and saved up all these factoids about the illegal regime in power. We need to make a list of all those who got donations from Abramoff; we need to keep tabs on all those who worked on illegal wiretapping; we need to have a command of all those who kept help from reaching New Orleans, the rest of Louisiana and Mississippi during the hurricans; we need to find every fucking scandal associated with the regime, and keep a cheat sheet of all their offenses, and once we have that in hand, we need to repeat the facts EVERY SINGLE DAY to anyone who pipes up with anything good to say about this illicit administration.

And it must be NOW. It must be immediate, and it must be continual. And as facts are added, whether they be in the Plame scandal, the Abramoff scandal, the wiretapping scandal, or any one of a thousand other scandals, we must be able to speak with a great deal of authority, making sure that the populace is inundated with FACTS day after day, night after night, until the election this fall for control of the House and Senate.

And then, we must go after the new Congress--constantly and consistently, day after day, and bring up IMPEACHMENT for both president and vice-president as often as we change socks. We must bring to bear the fact that we WILL NOT tolerate these scumbags, and that the U.S.A. is STILL a powerful nation, and that we WILL gain respect back once these assholes are out of office. We WILL PROSECUTE the criminals, and letting them go is not in our agenda!

WE THE PEOPLE of the United States of America WILL dictate to our representatives in Congress that WE are in control, and that WE want the record cleaned for the U.S.A. around the world. We are NOT some rich kid's playground, we are not the playtoys of smarmy and corrupt people, and we are certainly not the idiots who put this regime into power in the first place!

Moreover, we need to demand that private citizens who use the national airwaves to incite violence, who make comments about the need to assassinate our allies, are nothing but thugs and common criminals, and that their comments CAN and WILL BE prosecuted under RICO. People like Limbaugh, Robertson, O'Reilly and other sleazeballs like them can not and never will again be able to slander again.

We must no long be spinelss--we must stand up for our rights--and the rights our founding fathers originally gave us--in order to put this illegal regime, and all its tentacled allies (like the KKK, the radical religious right and other similar bodies) into their proper place. If WE do not do it, NO ONE ELSE WILL.

Unless we are prepared to speak up and out, we will have lost. Unless we counter attack, we will continue to be perceived as spineless weaklings who want only to moan and groan while doing nothing to actually fight the right.

Complaining is one thing--setting a paln of action into motion is entirely another. We seem to always be on the receiving end of the corruption and the actual "victims" of attacks--we need to reverse that process and learn to fight--it is only when the war for the reinstatement of our civil liberties and for the best of our country is launched that we can proudly still call ourselves Americans.

1. One way to start is to run for
office yourself. And I'm addressing that to everyone here at DU. Run for city council, for the water board, for state legislatures. What we have to do is take back the Democrat Party, and it needs to be done from the grass roots level.

2. That's an excellent idea
to add. If people ran for office, it would show they're not willing to just let some asshole repub win, even if the office is not a major one. Getting people used to how a government is run--legitimately--is essentially walking a mile with someone else's shoes on, and can certainly help some of the rhetoric out there.
