My Letter To My Congressman

Congressman Rahall,

Just a note to tell you that I, and many more of your constituents here in the Third District expect you to promptly Co-sponsor Rep. John Conyers' legislation calling for censure and possible impeachment of George W. Bush.

According to the latest Zogby Poll, 52% of the American People support the impeachment of George W. Bush for spying on the people of this nation without court order, sanction or warrant.

Time and again, George W. Bush has shown an outright imperial disdain for the checks and balances contained in the Constitution. If he is not checked now, via impeachment, Congress faces abject irrelevancy.

This is no time for shrinking timidity. This is a time that will define the greatness of character in our leaders.

Stand to the call of greatness. Stand to the call of accountability. Stand to the call of Adams and Jefferson and Franklin and Washington and Madison. Stand to the defense of the Constitution. Heed your oath.

I expect to soon see your name added to the list of co-sponsors of Congressman Conyers' legislation.

7. Thanks. The point is, and perhaps I should have made it in the letter,

that the Founders were willing, by their very signatures, to die for their vision.

And we have millionaire Democratic Congressman so terrified of Karl Rove that they can't even risk their seats for freedom? :grr:
