"Bimbo eruptions" vs. "Treason eruptions"
Most of you recall the disdainful and ugly phrase "bimbo eruption" that was tossed about during the Republican Clinton witchhunt and impeachment on charges of lying to Congress about an intensely personal matter.

In the spirit of framing and re-framing discussion on current political issues, I offer, for your consideration, two new terms I consider applicable to the current chief executive and the Republican-controlled Congress.

The first would be "Bribery eruption," to refer to every single incident involving Republican members of Congress and their acceptance of monetary "gifts" from confessed briber Jack Abramoff and other corrupt lobbyists.

I can envision headlines line "Ney accused in new bribery eruption."

On a far graver topic, I will from now on refer to every new revelation of the current president's disregard for the safeguards of the U.S. Constitution as a "treason eruption."

When you think about it, bribery eruptions and treason eruptions are definitely a tad more serious than the so-called "bimbo eruptions" manipulated by Republicans during the Clinton administration.
