My letter to the real POTUS.

I do not even know where to begin with this letter. It is like an awakening of sorts. The passion your speech invoked in me brought tears to this man’s eyes. I am 32 years old. I am an Army National Guard and Navy veteran. I am a citizen. I have never seen a leader of this Nation give a speech like the one you gave yesterday. John F. Kennedy and Martin Luther King Jr. gave speeches such as this, both gone early and before my time. You returned truth to us. Mr. Gore, yesterday you restored hope to many that were on the brink of losing it altogether.

I have never been so inspired. You have made me believe again that we the people can be the ones to decide which direction this Nation takes. Your use of quotes from the other great leaders of this Nation was perfectly applied. This is a time for change. It is a time for a new paradigm. Thomas Paine, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Abraham Lincoln, Alexander Hamilton, Thomas Jefferson, and Albert Gore. I do not put your name there to puff you up. I put your name there to show how desperately this Nation needs you to be the leader you have shown yourself to be. I put your name there to show that I believe you to be a patriot and that you must run for President again. As the Nation has needed leaders in the past to step up and take a stand; it needs you now. I have no shame in telling you that I beg you to run and take your place as the rightful President of the United States of America.

I fear we are at a dramatic turning point, not just for America, but for the entire world. This Country is beginning to reek of fascism. This is how it starts. We must put an end to it now! Our rights are being assailed, our environment is being assailed; even our basic ability to make a life for our families is being destroyed.

Where will the people be when the energy supply in the world continues to dwindle and we have not shifted our society to adapt with a responsible and sustainable alternative? We can not long continue to take from this world as we have done. Where will the people be as the climate conditions we created continue to wreak havoc upon us and our natural environment? Where will the people be as their rights are assailed from all directions? Where will the people be without truth?

Mr. Gore, yesterday you clicked on a flashlight in the dark room that so many of us have been living in, returning our hope. I can tell you where many of the people will be; they will be working with you, as you continue to shine your light into the dark places of our world and government. Mr. Gore, be that man. Be that leader I see in you. Your Nation needs you now more than ever. It is our time. Help bring this Nation and world to the Golden Age of which you spoke. From your words help lead us to action. Be that patriot. Become the President both in action and in title.

6. In Gore We Trust

A wonderful letter. I hope that many of our Democratic Governors, Senators and Congress members will find the courage to pledge their support to Al Gore in advance of the 2008 Presidential election. Without their support, it will be difficult for Gore to secure the nomination. We cannot expect him to enter the race as a "one-man movement", struggling to raise cash in a crowded field of potential candidates. He has to know in advance that the Party will support him. Not just grassroots Dems, but also elected Democrats must promise their 100% support to Gore.
