what about Gore/Edwards '08?
Forgive me if there is another thread already discussing this, but the thought just occurred to me. So-called "northeast liberals" will have no problem voting for an all-southern ticket, but for some reason, southerners/westerners have issues with northerners. They might be inclined to vote for a south/south ticket. Independents probably would and even southern republicans (not the wingers, but real republicans), especially if they have been destroyed in recent years by the freedom, job, and service stealing policies of the jr. administration.

Personally, I am sick of talk about Hilary-she is a DINO who seems to be out for herself. But from what I have read, the consensus seems to be that a Gore/Edwards ticket would crush anyone the republicans might trounce out.

1. As a "Hold my nose for Hillary" Dem . . .
I'd jump for joy over a Gore/Edwards ticket. Especially after Al's fire-breather the other day.

11. Edwards and Feingold together.
Put either one at the top of the ticket. It would be a powerful populist/progressive combo.

15. I'm on board with Edwards/Feingold or vice versa!
It would be perfectly populist/progressive. It would be a hard fight but I'd be in. Even more than Gore & Feingold or Edwards.

4. I would go for Al Gore - reserving judgment on Edwards - heard he was
chosen for Kerry's running mate by Bilderberger, but it is hard to tell if that is disinfo or truth - I do believe that Kerry, Clinton and the Bushes are Skull and Bones, Bilderbergers.

9. Sounds O.K., But we are in a dire emergency now!!!
We must get control in '06, Our country could be destroyed by the BFEE in 3 years. Everyone must work like hell in their own congressional districts next year. If you consider your Democratic candidate to conservative, hold your nose and get him or her elected anyway....We need the the seat filled, our future and the future of our children depend on it. STOP THINKING ABOUT 2008!!!

12. We need to get through 2006 first

I Like Gore and Edwards too, but we need to take back Congress, fix the voting machines and advocate for a true fair and balanced media. People are missing the big picture. As long as the GOP controls the media outlets and the press overall, it won't matter who the candidate is or how clean their record or image is. Without a fair and balanced media, no one will have a chance in 08 period.

14. what about Gore/Edwards '08?
African-Americans have waited a long, long time. The Democratic Party needs to answer these aspirations. Obama must be on the ticket.

16. Don't really like this Gore/Edwards notion...
Even though I like those two guys well enough, I don't see them as electable.

Al Gore's the guy who could have made the whole hanging chad drama in Florida meaningless IF he'd been able to carry the state that HE AND HIS FATHER HAD BOTH REPRESENTED in the Senate.

John Edwards was similarly unable to get North Carolina into the Blue column in 2004.

If you can't pull your home state, why would we want to bet the farm that you'll rack up 270 electoral votes elsewhere? I hope you guys are as tired of losing as I am!

17. I can't imagine Edwards would want to be in second slot this time
He's paid his dues - would probably want the top spot.
