My long rant on the Middle Eastern War
This is a long rant on my personal thoughts regarding the Middle Eastern War which I wrote when I read an article on The Christian Science Monitor regarding the Iran nuclear issue.

http://www.csmonitor.com/2006/0118/p01s04-wome.html

The article makes the point that Iran going nuclear is a natural and almost inevitable course for their country to take and indeed makes many references to positives that could arise from Iran possessing nukes. It also points to China and Pakistan as having benefited and indeed improved after acquiring nuclear weapons.

/

"I'm not saying I think a nuclear Iran should happen, but I think it's going to happen, so we have to prepare for that and deal with it," says Leon Hadar, a foreign-policy expert at the Cato Institute in Washington.

Recalling similar doomsday scenarios that greeted China's announcement that it had developed nuclear weapons, and global consternation eight years ago when Pakistan joined the nuclear club, Mr. Hadar says an argument can be made that even "rogue" regimes evolve once they possess the bomb.

"You can argue that behavior since it acquired nuclear weapons became more responsible," he says. The nuclear standoff between India and Pakistan has played a role in those two longtime enemies avoiding war over Kashmir, Hadar says. He adds that a similar understanding of "mutually assured destruction" might one day have to be developed between Israel and a nuclear Iran.

The Bush administration use of fear regarding Iranian (and Iraqi) nuclear possibilities is unfounded based on historical evidence. It is my opinion that as long as one nation has nuclear weapons it is the right of all nations to possess nuclear weapons. It is just plain unacceptable to me that the U.S. can have thousands of nuclear weapons and also provide nuclear weapons to its allies and expect the rest of the world, ESPECIALLY the coveted oil containing nations, to remain unarmed and at a clear disadvantage and at the whims of U.S. interests.

Our foreign policy towards the Middle East has been to use fear, control, and intimidation. We have meddled in their elections and political processes. We impose sanctions on the few countries that resist our domination and have killed millions.

The U.S. knows that without weapons of mass destruction we cannot control and manipulate the world. Our country profits from war everywhere. We provide the weapons and in many cases fuel the fires of discontent. That is our business. DEATH & FEAR

The Bush family and others covet their oil and the power and wealth it brings. That gold liquid that powers our world and makes our way of life possible. Not even our nukes possess such power and wealth. Without fear and intimidation we would be at the mercy of the Middle East and in many ways we are. The Saudi’s own a huge portion of our country. It is the gospel that our elected leader to not mention Saudi in a negative light.

I digress…

The Iranian issue is not their nuclear ambitions but their oil. Our government will do whatever it takes to overthrow the entire region. WHY? Because the world economy is getting bigger and there is only so much oil to go around. The more demand there is the more vital and powerful the Middle East becomes. Soon China will equal and then surpass our demand for energy. China will then hold the leverage and pull the strings of the region.

In my mind the question becomes what is the best course for our nation. The people of this country remain ignorant of what our foreign policy is and why. Ignorant of the operations the CIA have engaged in to destabilize regions in our name. We can’t even debate foreign policy in our nation or in the press because not enough people know the history and facts of our foreign policy to even develop an opinion.

American’s selfish disinterest in the world and its struggles is sickening to me. It is the people of this nation who vote and elect the most powerful leaders on the planet. Those leaders are the people who shape the fate of the ENTIRE world. Our consuming, TV fueled, citizens consider only their small lives, perfectly content to allow others to pull the strings of the world and shape our collective destiny using our money, earned by our sweat, and in our name. Content to allow massive amounts of secrecy in the government and their foreign policy and military actions. Content to accept lies as facts. Blinded by religion and party illusions.

Big business runs our country because the people do not and will not. It is oil tycoons that we keep electing as Presidents to run the world according to their interests. The Bush family has a legacy and a life based on oil and close ties to the Middle East and people in this country continue to believe there is NO CONNECTION between oil and the Iraq and soon to be Iran wars. No connection that the 1st Bush went to war with Iraq. No connection that we sold Saddam the very weapons we latter would use as an excuse for war. No connection that the 2nd Bush is starting a world war in the Middle East. You can’t start a war with 3 countries and continue to deny the fact that we are not actively seeking total domination of that region because of oil interests.

Although this is a long rant I want fully explain my opinion of Middle Eastern foreign policy and oil interests. I believe the United States should abandon all interests in the wars with the Middle East to gain control OF WHAT’S LEFT of the worlds oil supply. The advantage we would gain by dominating that region is a temporary one. After trillions of dollars of our money is spent and millions of innocents killed THE WORLD WILL RUN OUT OF OIL and we will be faced with the same choice we have now….learn to live without it. Focus all resources and finances on renewable energy sources for this country. Leave the countries of the Middle East alone. It is they who have lived on that land since the dawn of time it is their right to live and evolve ANY WAY THEY SEE FIT. If we don't want anyone to have weapons of mass destruction then we should get rid of our own. Anyone who claims this is what’s best for the Arab people should have their heads examined. Hitler, and many before him, tried to impose what they thought was best onto the rest of the world. How filled with EGO AND SUPREMECY one must be to claim such things.
Each man, and through that man each nation should be free to develop as they choose. The Bush administration is right on one thing EVERYONE DESERVES FREEDOM.
