Calling all Veterans. Time to step up to the line.

Our Mission

A New Movement

We’ve heard about Iraq, terrorism, and security from every side. But there’s one group that we need to hear from the most, and in 2006 we will. All over America, veterans are running for Congress as Democrats. They’ve been there, they know the story, and it’s time to let them speak.

Band of Brothers is a new political organization formed to assist Democratic veterans running for elected office. We’ve already identified more than three dozen fighting men and women who need our help to challenge the current administration on its failed policies at home and abroad.

They are all strong, principled citizens who have had enough of the current direction of our country, and are ready to fight — as Democrats have always fought — for solutions to the problems of security, health care, and corporate and political corruption. Some have served in the current war in Iraq, some have served our country at other times. But each candidate supported by Band of Brothers must in turn support Our Values.

Separately, each of these veterans offers hope in one district — but together they are a new movement. As veterans who have fought for America, they will fight for us in Congress.

2. Hope they get alot of MSM coverage....
I was impressed with their appearance on Cspan. Especially how they handled the stooopid rebublican phone line without stooping to the Swiftie smear tactics.

3. where do I join up?
I'm not running for anything but I'm not running FROM anything either, especially a petty tyrant! If you want to meet a peace protester in the making look under a helmet. After Vietnam, lots of us joined the peace movement. If these repukes had ever seen combat or even served their country, for that matter, they wouldn't be such war-mongering fools today. I like grass-roots and this movement sounds just right for me. Where do I sign up?

4. Lots of MSM coverage?
When CNN is hiring Glenn Beck, the writing is already on the wall.

It is likely that Band of Brothers will either get no coverage or negative coverage.

That doesn't prevent this from being an exciting new group, however. Paul Hackett seemingly came out of nowhere and almost captured a Republican seat in Congress.

It's one of the most likely routes to get our country out of the clutches of the insane people who are currently running it into the ground.

6. there's no place for volunteers at the site...
What I want is a grass roots movement of enlisted types that are anti-war... there's still lots of us around from 'Nam... I like the name and concept though... show those war-mongering repukes for the draft-dodging cowards they are!
