Do you get the feeling the dam is about to break ?
Abramoff. NSA spying. Executive Office law breaking. The war in Iraq. Iran. Congressional bribes. Lobbyists. Low poll ratings. Etc...

How long before the dam breaks? I would advise those in low-lying areas to get to higher ground - like many Repub Congressmen are doing at this moment...

18. I read that it was due to a hike in energy prices.
Like maybe Condi refusing negotiations with Iran sparking fears of Iran war, shutdown of Iran oil triggering economic meltdown?

Nah.

10. Agreed.
I can't remember who is was that posted on the new, distorted conception of "freedom" in America and the way people misuse that word--namely, that freedom=comfort.

Nothing will happen until living in this country becomes literally uncomfortable for most.

19. I know how you feel. With every new scandal and abuse of power
that's reported in the news, I keep thinking that this must be the straw that breaks the camel's back, but it hasn't happened yet. I find it hard to believe that he still has any credibility left, even in his own party. It's like they've all been brainwashed.

17. I think everyone may be underestimating the fallout
When this thing finally lets go, its hard to say WHAT will happen.
Will * declare marshall law and put troops in the street to keep power? Will there be a quiet change of power? Who knows? But after all the crap the repugs have been trying to pull, I am prepared to see troops on the street.

20. I'm not sure where it will go but considering these criminals'
records, they have no regard for life whatsoever. What we all know, they have done and will do ANYTHING to remain in power.

This falling house of cards should scare the bejeebus out of anyone who's been paying attention.

24. I would like to believe that, but...
BushCo and its affiliates have made billions off the misery they've caused. They're sitting fat and sassy. Even if the damn broke, we drown while they might get their Birkenstocks damp.

I beginning to believe this whole mess was about money from power and power from money. It took a four-decade campaign of dumbing down America, courtesy of the Corporate Media and Corporate Religion, for the Bushistas to steal the election of 2000. With that, they have seized ultimate power in America for their own selfish goals.

The only way to make this right is to arrest, try, and convict every member of this mob of thugs and cutthroats, and seize their assets using their own "forfeiture and seizure" laws. If they are allowed to go free and allowed to keep their wealth, this will only happen again. Look to "Iran/Contra" and other scandals to see what happens when the criminals are permitted to go free and keep their ill-gotten booty.

If by "the damn is about to break" you mean what I said in the previous paragraph, then I all for it. But, barring that, if we let them go again, then we will see this same criminal bunch over and over again, destroying this country and the world in order to fatten their wallets.
