Attack Iran? We're Ready

<<snip>>

"To locate and then strike these disbursed and underground facilities would probably require not air power but nuclear weapons," retired Gen. Barry McCaffrey even said on NBC Nightly News Saturday night.

<<snip>>

But those who pooh-pooh preparations to take military action against Iran, or question the likelihood because of targeting difficulties, fail to understand the Bush administration's policies and intent.

Last May, I wrote about U.S. preparations for "global strike," the preemptive attack plan developed by the Bush administration.http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2005/05/14/AR2005051400071_pf.html Global strike, formally known as CONPLAN 8022, refers to a specific set of contingencies to attack weapons of mass destruction should diplomacy fail in a crisis or if there are intelligence warnings of preparations for any type of strike on the United States or one of its allies. Practically, the global strike war plan applies to Iran and North Korea.

Global strike differs from other existing war plans -- even for those two countries -- in that it does not posit a U.S. response to invasion. That would be a defensive U.S. response. Instead, global strike constitutes a bolt-out-of-the-blue attack, a capability that has been developed wherein the President could order an attack within hours.

2. "CON"PLAN 8022
I thought that was always the plan. We've been being "conned" for years now.

6. We can't use nukes, Iran is a Russian client state
And Russia will nuke us shortly, thereafter.

8. I guarantee you we will be nuked if we use nukes on Iran
Edited on Wed Jan-18-06 02:21 PM by Loonman
I'd bet you money, but neither of us would be able to collect on it.

Nor would it be worth anything, anymore.

10. By who? Russia? China? Never happen. They are too afraid
of our retaliatory striking power.

OTOH, two or three years after, an unremarkable cargo ship will sail into NY harbor...

If we do this there will be ineffectual protests, even economic sanctions, but no military strike against us (though our embassies across the world will burn). But we will have to worry about black-market nukes for decades. The Muslim world will not forget or forgive.

11. At some point, though, somebody is going to detonate one
Or lob one at somebody. The temptation is just too great. Like how it was more difficult to NOT start WWI.

12. Its not the nukes, its the bourse
They intend to sell oil in Euros. They are starting a new trading exchange where oil and oil futures will be sold in Euros. This could collapse the dollar.

The date of this bourse? March.

When are we hyping this war? Now, just before March

When did Israel threaten to attack? March

When will the Fed stop reporting M3 (money supply)? March

Get it?
