:applause:
There's also the Gang of 14 to consider. They're the ones who made the deal with Frist.
14 senators came together and defused what would have been a historical blowup. Under the agreement, the seven Republicans said they would not support Frist's "nuclear option." The seven Democrats agreed to no longer block three previously filibustered Bush nominees and pledged to consider the filibuster of future nominees only under "extreme circumstances." (The phrase "extreme circumstances" was never defined.)http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=5080836I think Alito represents an "extreme circumstance," personally. I guess the trick with these senators will be to find out what matters to them and then use that to shape our emails and other communications with them to try to convince them to vote against Alito.
Here is a complete list of the Gang of 14, with contact info. (I've bolded the ones that also occur on the list you provided.):

So, we probably ought to start with the bolded ones, and try to convince them that the Alito nomination is that "extreme circumstance" that would release them from their previous pledge not to support a fillibuster. What do others think of this plan of attack?
I tried another thread (didn't get much of a response) based on the Gang of 14, and it has a bit of background info about each Senator, here:
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=132x2377058But I think checking out each Senator's website, to see how each Senator really thinks about things and tying the argument we present to the individual's personal concerns may be an even better approach, for those who have the time. Here is a link to a general Senate page that lists each senator and has a link to their personal web pages:
