that "we the people" fear our government (*Co) more than we fear Osama Bin Laden.
We really have to make it known that - OBL and his (audio or video) tapes don't scare us anymore.
When you look at the threads here in DU or listen in to calls to AAR or other radio talk shows - many if not most of us are skeptical as to whether these OBL messages are even real. We question the timing - because they always seem to come out at just the right time to benefit *Co.
If *Co is using this as a tactic - its not working anymore. It is almost working against them more than for them.
And even if they are real - they don't scare us like they might have right after 911. Why? Because - we can't control it anyhow. We'll just have to take our chances and hope that we aren't in the wrong place at the wrong time. The odds seem to be with the individual.
In a couple of days - barring the fact that we aren't MIHOP'ed (again?) the furor will go down in the MSM and "we the people" will forget this latest OBL message.
What won't go away though is *Co's scandals and screw-ups: the war, the lying us into it, the death toll (both US and Iraqi), the maiming, Plamegate, the wiretapping scandal, Patriot Act, Halliburton, gas price gouging, e-voting questions, Abramoff, DeLay, Frist, KStreet, day trading, DSM, google searches, Prescription Drug Program, erosion of health care coverage, pensions, corporatism, Katrina, FEMA, Brownie, etc, etc, etc, - and how our rights seem to be vanishing right before our very eyes.
No - we're not afraid of OBL anymore - we fear *Co and what *Co seems to be doing to "we the people". We fear more what *Co is doing to us on a daily basis and what it has in mind to make us forget about all their current and upcoming scandals and screw-ups.
What we have to do as individual "we the people" is to make sure the collective "we the people" continually get the message that the problem is right here before us and we can change it collectively and together.
