No Justice At Justice Dept....Just Bush Apologists. Your Tax Dollars
paying for a Bush mouthpiece personal attorney. There ought to be a law... Oh yeah, there probably are. But since there are so many this Mis administration breaks it is hard to keep track!

No worries, your tax dollar paid Chief lawyers will find away to wiggle Bush out of this as well.
At least they will until Congress and the Supreme Court begin to function as the framers intended!

1. Plenty of laws, just no one to enforce them. This is what happens when the
Executive Branch is run by mobsters.

2. Yep, you are right seems like the corporate Mob has taken over
DC. Hope someone in Congress or the Supreme Court will take them on. We need a vocal cry from somewhere! Right now it may be a case of the people needing to take to the streets to reassert the rule of law. Maybe we can drag some elected leaders in our wake!

4. If they don't, it will be We the People.
All the money we pay in taxes and we have to out the mobsters.
Well, ultimately it's still our responsibility, and if the ones we've elected won't do it we'll have to step up.
Sigh.
Freedom exhausting, no wonder "freepers" are so willing to give it up.

3. Unitary executive at work.
Clinton's justice department worked for Clinton.

*'s works for *.

Carter's worked for Carter.

Much better, in principle and practice, than having the justice department work for itself without any oversight, having the Congress or the judicial branch run that bit of the executive branch, or for the justice dept. to always work for the opposition party.

Congress could always defund the justice department.

5. Not so fast
>Congress could always defund the justice department.<

The DOJ is currently the home of one Patrick Fitzgerald. He needs that funding to keep working.

7. That's an argument that the unitary executive idea hasn't
actually been implemented to the fullest.

If the current DOJ memo implies DOJ has no independence, then Fitzpatrick's a counterexample.

In this case, I'll wait for the courts to rule, if somebody can justly find standing. I think the ACLU's case won't be found to have sufficient standing unless the NSA provides it.
