How to Block Fox and CNN
If you call your cable provider they MUST block any channels you request

http://www.foxblocker.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=64&Itemid=56

The only thing these corporations respond to is our wallets. This is a very effective way we can all send a strong message to these propoganda spreading fear mongers.

Do it today and please post once you have so others will be encouraged to do the same.

Please spread the word to all the blogs and your friends that blocking the channels you don't want is possible...imagine 50 million blocking FOX!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2. I did not KNOW this!
Yesterday there was a rather testy thread about ditching cable if you don't like the MSM, but this solves that. AND I would think that Fox would hear about each blocking request?

Fox exists because of the money. They don't give a damn about the politics.

11. I did not know that you could do it either, but it makes sense to be able
to block true obscenity.

12. If you have DirecTv
you can block them yourselves. I'm never tempted to watch Fox News because it doesn't appear on my channel guide...it's as if it never existed :)

13. link doesn't work -- is this what its about?
The OP says that cable operators must block any channels you request. I'm guessing this is a reference to section 624(d)(2) of the Communications Act, which states that cable operators, upon request, must sell or lease to subscribers a device by which the subscriber can prohibit the vieiwing of a particular channel. If you have a set top box that you lease from the cable operator, the operator probably already has fulfilled its obligation to you since most newer boxes can be programmed by the subscriber not to receive a particular channel. If you don't have such a box, the operator must provide it you, but expect to pay from $3 to $6 a month for it. And if you have DirecTV or EchoStar, the law doesn't apply (and if it did, the box you use would satisfy it).

Bottom line: I encourage anyone who wants to block Fox to do so, but don't expect it to have any more impact on the cable company than simply not watching it (or as dropping the level of service that has FoxNews on it). And if you're a DirecTV subscriber, forget about having any impact no matter what you do since DirecTV is owned by the same company as Fox).
