If Repubs want to make national security the issue
Then why aren't we ramming the 9/11 commission's failing grades down their throats?

We should be mentioning this every day, 10 times a day. This administration has received failing grades time and time again for their approach to national security.

One thing Repub advisors get that the Dems seem to miss is repetition. The 3 R's-repetition, repetition, repetition.

Don't we have any marketing experts who can come up with concise phrases that stick in the TV watching American's craw? They can come up with "tax relief" or "regulation relief", can't we just throw "documented security failures" or something down their throats?

2. The one thing that we have to look forward to.....
Is that the one-sided media can no longer shut out Democrats once the actual campaign season begins.

We may have no clue who our nominee will be in 2008, but there's quite a few stellar names out there for 2006!

Let the debates begin ~~~~

3. Excellent post ...
... excellent idea!

Dems should also throw in the fact that the Homeland Security funds were WASTED, in that they were handed out to towns that didn't need them, and were often spent (even in larger, more at-risk) cities on items totally unrelated to security. The Admin handed out (taxpayers') dollars, but where was the monitoring to ensure these funds were used to make the nation SAFER?

Tons of cargo come in to American ports every day, and are loaded -- uninspected and unchecked -- onto trucks and railroad cars that navigate highways across the country. Again, how has that made the nation SAFER?

4. Agreed! And what's wrong with having a pre-9/11 mindset anyway?
I think the entire country would rather return to how things were pre-9/11. And, frankly, what have these Regressives really CHANGED since then? Hmm ... surveillance sans warrants, loss of civil liberties, rainbow terror alert system, removal of shoes pre-flight, non-stop "terraterraterra" but ...

1. No OBL "DEAD OR ALIVE"
2. No port security increases
3. No scanning of cargo on planes
4. No change in border policy/patrol

And they accuse DEMOCRATS of having a pre-9/11 mindset! They may have a post-9/11 MINDSET but they certainly aren't BEHAVING like it. They should put their focus and money where your (big) mouths are.

6. Throw in border security and nuclear proliferation
and they won't have a comeback. Especially on border security, which is supposedly a big Republican concern. Maybe that's how we can get some people to cross the aisle.

Seriously, even people in Freeperville are not happy about these Google searches, and SOME of them really are getting tired of trying to defend the Pres. The opportunity is ripe, we have to POUNCE on it!
