Frist calls Alito Democrats' "nightmare"
Edited on Fri Jan-20-06 09:45 PM by LiberalGuy000
By Richard Cowan

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist told Republican Party activists on Friday night that U.S. Supreme Court nominee Samuel Alito was the "worst nightmare of liberal Democrats."

Frist, a Tennessee Republican, made the remark to fellow Republicans during a private tour he gave them of the Senate chamber when the Senate was not in session.

1. They really do not respect anyone but their clones at all...
if you were relegated to the House basement, or informed that you would be GAGGED and not allowed to comment on Alito before the vote...and then heard this comment by this SOB...wouldn't YOU be determined to filibuster?? To attempt to inform the American people of what the F*CK was going on with these power crazed freaks>??????

9. When I was a child, the communists did stuff like this to their foes!
That why they were evil and we were taught to hate them so. I read your words & I feel like crying, for I know this certainly is no democracy.

4. Or, apparently, to earn an M.D.
No offense to any physicians on the board, but how in the hell did Frist make it through medical school?

5. Alito: The Nightmare to Liberal Democracy
I say we turn it around and destroy them with it. They admit they're putting a right wing extremist on the bench, that's how I read it.

7. We want Alito opposed...
I believe we want Alito opposed, even if it means a fillibuster... Many have called their Congressmen, others have sent emails and signed petitions to that effect...

Alito is deceptively mild mannered and there's not a great deal of totally damning evidence against him--as the existence of that kind of evidence is unlikely to exist for anyone--even Hitler probably wouldn't have had any such 'evidence'. Nevertheless, I believe Frist is right--he will turn out to be a nightmare. I think many people, including Democratic Congressmen have concluded the same thing...

But will we see the Democrats in Congress stand up and fight? I suspect we won't... How high a price would such opposition cost them? What have they got to lose?

10. Let's not forget what Norquist said...

on Sept 12th of 2004....."If we take control of the Legislative and the Executive branch, we will reinforce our control of the Judicial Branch to direct it against the Democrats"....sooooo now what is their intent again???? ARE THERE ANY QUESTIONS???? HE is admitting that Alito is a right wing extremist that WE ARE GOING TO LIVE TO REGRET...

It would seem to me...that those Dems wavering on whether they need to filibuster Alito...should be paying very close attention to this spoken gem from the loose lips of Fritz...
