If Abramoff gives a list of suggested contributions to his clients that instructs them to decrease the amount they usually give to Democrats, and increase the amount to Republicans, isn't that "directing" funds to Republicans?
I mean, even if Democrats' names appear on the list, he's cutting their contributions and shifting it to the GOP. The goal is still to bring the amount given to Democrats as close to zero as possible.

2. If Abramoff so much as thinks about giving to Democrats |
|
that makes it a bi-partisan scandal.
I think I heard that on Softball, I mean Hardball.

That's the way business operates all the time. For any salesmen out there, isn't that what you always try to do? Bet the business from your competitor????
What eliminates the Dems from the problem is that even though they received money from tribes, that's just SOP. Abramoff worsend their position, not helped it!
The money isn't the problem folks! The problem is the quid pro quo! Abramoff used the money to BRIBE!!!! And he BRIBED the pubs BECAUSE they were in charge and could make it happen!!!!
