Clooney's dad defends Abramoff's dad (it's not HIS fault)
From Friday's USA Today, pg 2D:

"Dear George: The father of former lobbyist Jack Abramoff has responded in a letter Thursday to the Desert Sun in Palm Springs, Calif., to what he calls George Clooney's 'glib and ridiculous attack' on his son during Monday's Golden Globes. On TV, Clooney wondered aloud why Abramoff's parents would give him that first name considering their last name. Frank Abramoff said his son was named after his father and noted that 'the worst part of your tirade is that it played out in front of ... my sweet 12 year old granddaughter.' Clooney's father, Nick Clooney, tells the Sun he 'understands' fatherly concern about public criticism, but it's not Mr. Abramoff senior's fault that (Jack) turned out to be who he is any more than it is to my credit that my son turned out to be what he turned out to be."

6. What a load of CRAP! Isn't this the old man who owns the sweat shops?
How much you wanna bet the "sweet 12 year old granddaughter" didn't even GET that joke--unless grandpa explained it to her?

While 12 year old boys might have heard the expression "jack off" (possibly because they might be "accused" by someone of doing it!), really young girls usually are NOT up to speed on locker room expressions. This is not to say that 12 year old girls don't know curse words; I just think they don't happen to know the ones that are used more among GUYS.

This old bastard is pulling an "Alito's wife crying boo hoo" trick. Obviously, this old bastard is just as dishonest as his filthy son.

7. I read that Jack A's "family business" was sweat shops in the Marianas
Doesn't that mean that said sweat shops were or are the property of THIS man--this man who is now complaining about George Clooney?

This old man, who has caused misery for hundreds (if not thousands) of workers in the Marianas islands--so that he could live in Beverly Hills and send his children (including Jack) to Beverly Hills High--is complaining because someone made a mildly funny joke about Jack Abramoff, a prolific CRIMINAL????

14. Maybe he was talking about his sweet little 12-year old employee
and part-time prostitute . . . and currently a recipient of at least two abortions?

8. Nick Clooney is very cool. He was wonderful as the host on AMC back
when they still showed classic movies and before they added commercials. Unfortunately, they wanted to skew to a younger audience and so Mr. Clooney was let go in favor of Carmen Electra (who is, I believe, no longer employed by them)!

12. I think if old man abramoff
was concerned about his granddaughter and what she thought of him, that he should have chosen a lifestyle that when someone spoke the truth about him, it would not shame him in front of his granddaughter. It is not Clooney's fault and she will find out eventually about the ugly men in her life.

15. "...'the worst part of your tirade is that it played out in front of
my sweet 12 year old granddaughter, one of Jack's five children."

Better tell her to toughen up a bit, Gramps. And you might want to talk to your other grandkids, as well. The "Jack Off" joke is certainly not as traumatic as their daddy going to prison will be.

And, while you're at it, you could use a reality check yourself.

"We have had to endure two years of unmitigated, outrageous falsehood directed at my son and his record of achievement on behalf of his clients and friends."
