Lack of intelligence on Bin Laden

This link is to a CBS article written by their Pentagon correspondent on the day the Bin Laden tape was released. In a meeting he had that day with a top pentagon offical, who did not yet know about the Bin Laden tape, the offical started the interview by stating his confidence that Bin Laden was dead or injured. The journalist outlines how concerning it is that the Pentagon has gathered absolutely no intelligence on Bin Laden even though they have a huge budget and every investigative tool at their disposal.
