WA State GOP executes sick political stunt
Just when you thought they could sink no lower...they do.

Just when you thought it couldn't get any more Rovian than it already has...it does.

The Washington State Republicans have executed a political stunt that is so nasty, despicable, and sickening that past dirty tricks pale in comparison. This stunt is downright filthy...as filthy as can be.

The Speaker’s Roundtable, a front organization for Washington State Republicans, have set up a slick, sick campaign to target Democratic legislators, claiming that Democrats want to protect sex offenders and not innocent children. They're going all out, with TV ads, robo calls, and postcards....like this:

2. And yet in Texas, the Dem's were not allowed to
attack Tom Delay....

Freedom is just another illusion....

When the airwaves are in the hands of corporate supporters of the GOP...

5. We have at least our
share of sick freepcreeps in Washington State. I will bet that the author of this campaign hasn't the slightest idea what qualifies a person as a "Level 3" sex offender. It is not necessarily that the person committed a violent act. The person could simply be someone who is required to register and is homeless. Some counties traditionally have classified all s.o.'s released to them as Level 3 because they don't "welcome" s.o.'s.

6. It is well known that most sexual offenders are Republicans...
should there be preemptive attacks on Republicans?

8. It gives me the creeps that there are 2 level 2 offenders in my
neighborhood. I hate having to live near them. I'm very liberal and I get livid over child abuse.

Like you guys are saying, those GOP hypocrites are among the offenders.

I hope there is legal action and hard prison time for the propagator's of this carp.

It always ends up being tied to someone in TX who knows the rovererer or something like that.

Nail them!!!

9. Look at this BS!
Sorry, I couldn't figure out how to make the pic smaller. Found in the article accompanying the OP's link. What a lying bunch of hypocrites!

"This morning, DailyKos user Buckethead21 updated his Kos diary with a postcard that looks almost identical to the one we just showed you above. Except this postcard is targeted at Rep. Bill Grant of the 16th District, which includes Walla Walla.

How can the same sex offender live in both Clark and Walla Walla Counties, which are over a hundred miles apart from each other?

<snip>

I did have someone sit down and go through ALL of the Clark County Level II and Level III sex offenders (the ones there are pictures for) on the state web site. (http://ml.waspc.org/) He found NOBODY that even remotely resembles the person in the mailer in Clark County.

I personally went through every photo of someone listed for “rape of a child” in Clark County myself today, with no matches.
The Republicans are apparently making up fake sex offenders to use in their disgusting postcards. Did they think they weren't going to get caught in a lie? Or do they just not care? The Republicans aren't just dirty, but they're stupid as well..."
