A roadside bomb blast has killed two U.S. airmen and wounded another north of Baghdad, the military said Monday.

The airmen, assigned to the 586th Expeditionary Mission Support Group, were part of a military escort when they were attacked Sunday near Taji, where there is an airbase 12 miles north of Baghdad, the statement said.

The names of the slain airmen were being withheld pending next-of-kin notification.
