ACLU pizza ordering
This is pretty funny, if you believe that there is no inherent constitutional right to privacy.

4. I have an idea
When sending links that we find here, why not send a link to the post that contains the link, to expose people to the DU?

6. someone has also "fixed" the comedy part too
It's all reverberating and echo now. I heard it last month through email though and it's funny.

9. Domestic Surveillance is now Terrorist Surveillance Project
But domestic surveillance is still illegal, so they had to quickly change the label. And any thoughts of consumers having their data protected is already out the window:

"...Alan Paller, director of research at the Bethesda, Md.-based SANS Institute, said the California law is probably necessary because of the kinds of crime that are occurring. A group in Russia and Ukraine has been acquiring customer data, extorting money to prevent its release and then selling it anyway. Paller believes some companies are paying off the extortionists in an attempt to contain the damage. "

With that in mind,

Total Surveillance
http://www.motherjones.com/interview/2005/12/albrecht.h ...

Couple this insidious RFID technology with purposely erroneous background checks

Who is checking the background checkers?
http://www.csmonitor.com/2005/1128/p13s02-wmgn.html

They've offshored, outsourced, and privatized TIA to the Bahamas (Global Information Group, Ltd, which uses ChoicePoint's material I believe...).

Now all they have to do is fire you for being 'of the wrong political party' and put false information in your background data...and voila ! You've just created the most insidious terror project in the US ever.

12. what made me wonder...
Not long after 9/11 certain quotes I had always enjoyed started slowly disappearing online like the little snipets on scurity vs liberty b Jefferson and Franklin and this favorite of mine: The trouble with fighting for human freedom is that one spends most of one's time defending scoundrels. For it is against scoundrels that oppressive laws are first aimed, and oppression must be stopped at the beginning if it is to be stopped at all.
- H.L. Mencken

They weren't totally gone but the quotes got pretty scarce. That has since improved a little. Another very recent search for got spooky when I looked for something very common before the T-center horrors: It was a quest for sites with a link to voices actually singing "We Shall Overcome." I was only able to find one site NPR where the music came through my computer speakers.
