They've offshored, outsourced, and privatized TIA to the Bahamas (Global Information Group, Ltd, which uses ChoicePoint's material I believe...).

Now all they have to do is fire you for being 'of the wrong political party' and put false information in your background data...and voila ! You've just created the most insidious terror project in the US ever.

They weren't totally gone but the quotes got pretty scarce. That has since improved a little. Another very recent search for got spooky when I looked for something very common before the T-center horrors: It was a quest for sites with a link to voices actually singing "We Shall Overcome." I was only able to find one site NPR where the music came through my computer speakers.
