AP: "Bush to Take Unscripted Audience Questions" (What would YOU ask?)
Edited on Mon Jan-23-06 09:05 AM by Sparkly
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060123/ap_on_go_pr_wh/bush;_ylt=AueX7_42_ZLKsLLus5Q5ogCs0NUE;_ylu=X3oDMTA3OXIzMDMzBHNlYwM3MDM-

The funniest thing about this is the fact that Chimpy taking unscripted questions makes a headline.

The second funniest thing is this:
"Bush has been taking questions from audience members in recent speeches, and the White House says none has been prescreened. It's a throwback to the folksy style on the campaign trail that helped him win re-election and a departure from the heavily scripted speeches that were the norm last year."

She must mean the folksy repetitions of scripted phrases in response to pre-screened audiences...

Anyway, he's supposed to be doing such a "folksy" event today at 12:30 at Kansas State University. So, what would YOU ask him?

3. "Mr. President, Ford announced 25,000 layoffs today . . .
Last month, Pfizer announced 7,000, GM about 30,000 and that's just scratching the surface. With tens of thousands of high wage jobs on the way out permanently, with the federal debt rising at $10,000 a second and with millions more Americans uninsured than when you took office, how can you stand there and tell us the economy's doing fine - how can you say that with a stright face?"

5. K &R, just because of the smarmy article...
Gotta love this

He has spoken about one of the worst things about being president — exposing his daughters to public scrutiny — and one of the best — impressing his childhood friends with dinner at the White House.

"It's a great honor, pretty awe-inspiring deal," Bush said in Virginia. "They walk in there and, kind of (say), `What are you doing here, Bush?'"

We ask that question every f%#&*ing day! MKJ

6. This should be fun...Every time he gets in front of an audience
he completely blows it. Not the pre-screened, allegiance signing RW droolers and knuckle-draggers, but real Citizens, he completely stumbles all over himself, and every time, a new group of Americans realizes that bush is an idiot, and it sets the GOP back another few thousand votes.

Let him talk, (he doesn't speak), the '06 election is coming up, and those that have aligned themselves with this babbling baboon will be voted out of office....:)

12. If you screen the audience, no need to screen the questions.
And Kansas, I'm sorry to say, has got more than enough Bush enthusiasts to fill an audience - probably all registered Repubicans and Bush donors.

31. No doubt about it, these people are not likely to ask any hard
questions. Even if they do, Bush is so incoherent that they wouldn't get any understandable answers anyway. Just more of his gibberish that is accepted as intelligent speech.

42. I already knew Matthews was a fool.
But that's the absolute nadir -- "sunny nobility." :puke: The vulgar, incurious, incoherent, immature, selfish, short-sighted, incompetent Bush has "SUNNY NOBILITY."

Seriously, though, why hasn't Matthews noticed Bush's very pronounced mean streak? It's been on display constantly throughout his adult life. Bush's humor is often quite cruel (put-downs galore), and of course he controls events and denigrates other people. He's also obnoxiously patronizing (e.g., having to utter, "Good job" to everyone who makes a speech in his hearing, even if it's the prime minister of another nation). Yet many in the media maintain the fiction of Bush as a friendly, likaeble guy. Horse manure, utter horse manure.

<< Three times, Bush gave rambling responses that addressed
everything

but the questions presented. The fourth time, the president took a

deep breath, blew it out, looked at the ground, looked at the

ceiling, stalled for time, then said: "You know, I just -- I'm sure

something will pop into my head here in the midst of this press

conference, with all the pressure of trying to come up with an

answer, but it hadn't yet."

20. Question
At what stage did you start to believe you can actually think on your feet, and a supplementary, which idiot (but I am glad there is one) decided you should do live Q&A, it's just not fair to make the members of the public look so small when confronted by the rapier wit that accompanies such a huge intellect.

26. The fact that this article appears in MSM during the time that
Bush's administration has been caught spying on Americans without warrants and the Jack-off scandal is in full swing illustrates just how f*cked we are as a nation.

Crap like this article surfacing when there is so much to pursue if the MSM actually had any investigative reporters? It makes me ill.

30. My question? --
"You lied to this country multiple times about everything from our safety and security, the economy, and election fraud, all the way to actually going to war. Your predecessor was impeached for lying about a sexual pecadillo. Since you control both Houses and the Supreme Court, guaranteeing you will not be impeached, when do you plan to do the right thing and ask for the resignations of all your cabinet and VP, and then submit your own resignation?"
