What is the group at KSU???
I'm watching this hand-selected bunch of sheep who are applauding and laughing at everything out of the chimp's mouth! WTF are they? Certainly not an open to the public forum at KSU. Sign says 'Landon'. Some Repug group?

He is in full southern boy mode. ACTUALLY SAID HE WOULD BE PROTECTING OUR ' CHILLUN AND GRANDCHILLUN'. And he's lying his ass off while he's hemming and hawing and 'aw shucks maam' to everyone. Jophn Wayne would be proud.

Who the hell are these idiots applauding??????

5. Your support of DU'ers in Kansas is really appreciated
I can't tell you how wonderful it is to log on and see this thread on the Kansas forum http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=153x3874 and then immediately afterwards find a posting from someone like you who doesn't know how hard we are working here. It's so nice to keep getting kicked in the teeth.

Oh yeah, welcome to DU, where Kansas bashing is allowed far more than it should be.

8. Hey, I did not indict the Democratic minority of the state.
All I am saying is that Kansas is a very red state and there is no shortage of sheep who are willing to come out to prop up their King.

Lou Montulli

Short Bio

* In 1991, while at The University of Kansas, I started writing a program that eventually became known as Lynx. (One of the first web browsers)
* While working on Lynx, I was heavily involved with the development of HTTP and HTML, and was responsible for innovations such as web proxying. That time period was one of most exciting and fast paced periods I can remember. Innovations that are completely ubiquitous now, were proposed and implemented in incredibly fast cycles. It wasn't until the later days at Netscape that we coined the term "Internet Time". I recently came across archived messages of the original WWW-Talk mailing list and found the thread that sparked the creation of forms on the web.
* In 1994 I moved to California to become one of the founding engineers at Mosaic Communications Corporation, which later changed it's name to Netscape.
* At Netscape I engineered all the networking code as well as many of the back end subsystems for the first several versions of the browser, proxy and parts of other server products.
* I'm largely to blame for several innovations on the web including, cookies, the blink tag, server push and client pull, HTTP proxying, proxy authentication, HTTP byte ranges, HTTPS over SSL, and encouraging the implementation of animated GIFS into the browser.
* If you remember that very first HTML interface news reader from the pre Navigator 2.0 days, that was me. Unfortunately very few other people believed in HTML as an interface back then, so it got scrapped. It's ironic how things have come full circle again.
* While working on Navigator, I started The Amazing FishCam, the 2nd ever live camera on the web. This spawned other useful (and far more popular) camera sites.
* As a representative to the W3C, I was a founding member of the HTML working group and helped shape innovations in HTML, style sheets, and scripting and was a contributing author of the HTML 3.2 spec.
* In 1998 I left Netscape to became a founding engineer and Director of Server Engineering at Epinions.com, Inc., which has now become Shopping.com
* In 2002 I was elected to the Technology Review TR100
* In 2004 I co-founded a new company with some of the most talented engineers from Netscape and Epinions. We were named Memory Matrix, Inc., and developed technology to improve the consumer digital photography experience.
* In 2005 Memory Matrix was aquired by Shutterfly. I am currently working at Shutterfly as a V.P. of Engineering.

Excuse me while I go give in to the surrounding redness, NOT!

12. You know, in fairness, Bush can dredge up blind support in any state...
Whether Massachusetts or Kansas, the GOP can always get ahold of a thousand zombies to cheer everything Bush says. I hardly think Kansas is alone in this...

Hell, speaking of support for conservatives, isn't Canada's Liberal party about to lose power? Should we now assume that all Canadians are thoughtless morons incapable of electing anything but a conservative dupe?

Of course not. But at the same time, there's plenty of good Kansans as well, just as there's plenty of good and bad everywhere you go. :hi:

3. "Landon" is Alf Landon
better known as the father Nancy Landon Kassabaum Baker (now married to former Senator Howard Baker). He ran for president against FDR once.

Check out this posting from the Kansas forum. There were DU'ers and others there protesting.

6. What I thought
I figured it had to do with Alf Landon, but didn't know if only a group member whatever it is were allowed in. All his staged appearances are a selected audience.

13. There are several threads on the Kansas forum
talking about the lead-up to this. Those that were able to attend can say it so much better. http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topics&forum=153

Kudos to the Kansans that are working to make a difference despite the constant berating we get here on DU.

who hosted Democratic fundraisers. That's hard to live down around here too. That's before he went went on his anti-gay crusade and the pugs like bringing those pictures out to try to discredit all Democrats.

But not to worry, none of them were pre-screened, screened or searched for offending signs or t-shirts.

Encompassing the full range of thought from folks who think Bush is the greatest president ever to those who think he only one of the greatest presidents ever, along with his daddy and St. Ronnie.
