I guess that makes sense.
Clear-cutting is Healthy Forests.
Pumping more crap in the air is Clear Skies.

MANHATTAN, Kan. - President Bush on Monday rejected critics' assertion that he broke the law by authorizing domestic eavesdropping without a warrant, saying he was doing what Congress authorized him to do to protect Americans from terrorist attacks.

With congressional hearings set to begin on this issue Feb. 6, Bush kicked his administration's new intensive public relations effort to win support for the program run by the National Security Agency. As part of that, he gave it a new label — the Terrorist Surveillance Program.

7. The NO FLY list is full of political oppenents of Bush and ...
.. and we're supposed to believe they're using discretion on a secret spying program?!

Right.

What it means to me is this: every script I write for a cartoon that mentions terror, Osama, or anything remotely touching those topics is harvested since it crosses into Canada.

This nonsense Bush is trying to sell, that they're only listening to calls from suspected AQ members is total and complete horseshit. They're using a program that looks for certain words, and ANYONE who talks on the phone or by email to anyone across the borders of the US may be subject to this illegal spying on citizens.

And I love their line that "maybe this would have prevented 9/11." Double horseshit. Maybe if they'd read the August 6th report or listened to their counterterrorism chief for 8 months, or maybe if they had listened to FBI agents, or maybe if they simply hadn't stuck their heads in the sand we wouldn't have had 9/11.

Our system worked, if the executive branch had done its job. We didn't lack for good intel before 9/11, we lacked for intelligence of the Bush administration and his circle of like thinking lackeys.

8. DON"T let them "morph" one thing into another...
Republicans WANT us to talk about the "Terrorist Surveillance Program".....Don't.

This is about Presidential ABUSE OF POWER.

If we talk about the pros and cons of Bush's "surveillance program", they won't have to discuss the fact that the Bush administration has USURPED THE RIGHTS of the American people to have (according to the Constitution) a government of checks and balances.

This is NOT about a surveillance program, this IS about President Bush abusing his power and NOT defendinging the Constitution of the United States

9. Why would we even have
Edited on Mon Jan-23-06 09:35 PM by quaoar
a Terrorist Surveillance Program?

If we know they are terrorists, why isn't it a Terrorist Arrest Program?

or a Terrorist Gets Killed Program?

Or a Terrorist Gets His Ass Kicked Program?

We're just gonna watch them?
