NewsMax sounds alarm! Crazy Liberals may succeed in Filibuster!
Edited on Mon Jan-23-06 07:10 PM by IanDB1
Dear NewsMax Reader:

Below is an urgent message from the Center for Individual Freedom, which is a leading advocate in the fight to confirm Judge Alito to the Supreme Court. Please take a few moments to learn what you can do to fight back against the liberal assualt on Judge Alito's confirmation to the Supreme Court.

Thank you,

NewsMax.com

"Judge Alito... disregards our fundamental rights and endangers our liberties. Join me today in urging Senate Democrats to stand together and use every means they have available to block this dangerous nomination."

-- Ex-Senator and Vice-Presidential Candidate John Edwards' Internet Petition Calling For The Filibuster Of Judge Alito --

John Edwards goes further in his Internet appeal to liberal activists -- which appears to have originated from a Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee email address -- and actually accuses Judge Alito, President Bush's highly qualified nominee to the Supreme Court, of supporting "abuses of power." Edwards also calls Judge Alito a "judicial activist" and "an ideologue whose extreme views would put our fundamental rights at risk."

Normally, we would simply laugh at these antics -- but this is NO LAUGHING MATTER!

This is serious! And the threat is real!

The Edwards' email petition -- which is spreading across the Internet like a wild fire -- is just one small part of a last minute, last ditch attempt by Senate liberals to filibuster Judge Alito's nomination.

A last ditch effort that can succeed unless you and I take immediate action.

Because John Edwards is NOT the only one pushing -- RIGHT NOW -- for an Alito filibuster!

Use the hyperlink below to send your urgent and personalized 55 Blast Fax letters to all 55 Republican Members of the U.S. Senate. Tell them to stand up to the leftist juggernaut that is trying to obstruct Judge Alito's confirmation. Tell them that you are sick and tired of the schoolyard antics, disgraceful delays, obstruction and political maneuvers by Democratic Senators and their Leftist special interest friends.

And while you're at it, tell them that you want the Nuclear Option implemented the very second there is even a whiff of a filibuster. And tell them you expect every GOP senator to vote "yes" when Judge Alito's confirmation comes up for a final vote.

Newsmax is so scared-- and this is so important-- that they're willing to help you Blast Fax all 55 Republican Senators RIGHT THIS MINUTE! (But only if you're willing to pay them a MINIMUM REQUIRED CONTRIBUTION of $20 to do it).

Yes, that's right.

This Filibuster is so important and so dangerous that the Patriotic Americans at Newsmax will do anything to stop it-- so long as they get to charge you twenty bucks.

Because we know Republicans never exploit irrational fears of their citizens for financial gain.

Right?

5. Either we can really succeed in filibustering...
or else NewsMax can really succeed in scaring-up more $20 donations.

We're talking about people who believe an invisible man in the sky will punish us if we let gay people get married.

Republican's aren't exactly world-class critical thinkers.

16. I agree, what's with Feinstein?
I called Boxers office and it took 15 minutes to get through, with Feinstein it took about 2 seconds. I doubt very much that I will support her in the primaries. The last I heard is that people in San Francisco were very actively looking for a Boxer type liberal to take her down. I hope so.

Gee, there must be a LOT of dry timber out there . . . smoldering . . . smoking stuff . . . hot, hot stuff . . .

P.S. I think the fax is good, because it comes on paper, and even better is to customize your message, so they can't call it "astroturf."

BTW, In case you missed it, our efforts to date are definitely causing a stir. (Poor Novak doggedly pushes the company line -- "Despite the consensus that Alito performed well in his confirmation hearings"). They comfort themselves with the notion that the pressure is astroturf created by "leaders of liberal organizations."

The truth -- that people are spontaneously demanding what they want in no uncertain terms -- is just too frightening.

Let's show them that they ain't seen nothin' yet!

or the links, but aren't there something like six political action groups in favor of Alito, and eighty-eight against? Thought I read that somewhere.
