Very well written and very pungent short speech on the committee.

Biden did well too, but Kohl was very direct (I sat up and took notice of him in the hearings too; both because he was as eloquent there and brought up Bush v Gore -- why won't the other "Dems" do this? :-()

5. I had not seen or heard that much from him before the Alito hearings.

But I sat up and paid attention from the first sentence he uttered -- excellently crafted sentences, pungent points and the simple courage to bring up Bush v Gore when no other elected dem even wants to touch it.

Today he outdid himself!

8. I received an email

response to my email to him re: Alito. It was vague and said only that he would take my views into consideration...I emailed him last week and just got the response last night.

I think he got a lot of phone calls, emails and faxes and his speech today reflected what Wisconsinites have told him about their views on Alito.

7. it's hard being russ's wingman...

I've never had much of a problem with him. Some WI dems think he's a do-nothing. But I think he's always done good things for our state. His votes are very similar to Russ, so he's not entirely too bad.
