Senators aren't listening to us...
Ed Henry on CNN just said that privately "It's over" with regards to Alito. They're not going to filibuster. They talk a good game and then don't even TRY to stop him? x(

But I put it out there, just as I earlier put it out there that REID said a filibuster hasn't been ruled out. I don't see Ed Henry as a partisan hack. And I listen to Randi Rhodes, which I did from 3-4. I watched c-span all day 'til 3. I also watch Hardball, Countdown, and then The Daily Show and The Colbert Report. I think I'm pretty well-rounded.

31. No-it WON'T color my thinking...
I'm not a "ditto head" or anywhere near anything like that. I have a mind of my own-a very liberal mind. I wrote posts today earlier that others said the filibuster is NOT off the table. When I heard Henry say what he said, I WANTED to hear that he's wrong.

to the REAL reality so I can argue conservatives and know where they got THEIR info.

4. Why are you listening to CNN?
Edited on Tue Jan-24-06 04:17 PM by sparosnare
I highly doubt Ed Henry has been briefed by our Democratic Senators about what they're going to do. He's merely a puffed-up windbag speculating as they love to do. If a filibuster is in the works, are Reid & Co. going to announce it beforehand? No. Element of surprise is best. It ain't over til it's over.

6. Leahy, Boxer & Dorgan are all on Big Eddie today.. Ed Henry is right..
Sure sounds that way anyhow..

Dorgan has been the only one on so far.. but said that the R's would just pull the Nuclear Option, and once that happens.. they'd use the change in senate rules for countless other issues on their agenda..

Boxer and Leahy will be on to talk about Alito soon..

And Ed Henry said what he said. I'm just "reporting" what he said.

But you're assuming our Senators aren't listening to us based on what Ed Henry has said.

21. That's correct...
And I'm angry about it. I HOPE it's not true, but why would he say that if he didn't speak to the senators? Is Henry a partisan hack?

22. He could be.
I rarely watch CNN and when I do, I take what any of them say with a huge dose of skepticism. Objectivity is in short supply by our tainted media these days.

So - I prefer to just wait and see what happens. Then I can get angry. :hi:

25. Just heard the filibuster is not off the table.
Senator Leahy has just stated to Ed Shultz that Senator Reid will make the filibuster decision - so far, he hasn't decided one way or the other. ;)

28. Or you could quote Senator Barbara Boxer, who said
on Ed Schultz today, "Everything is on the table." The question was about the possibility of filibuster.

Forget shutting-down congress.

Shut-down the whole damn country.

16. Not really
Last time I checked unions have lost a lot of members over the year. Is having only 8% of the nations workforce being union enough to shut the nations economy down ?

17. They could lead the way and the rest would hopefully follow
If not the rest, then at least the rest of us.

I know I'd do what I could.

Start with the truckers and the transit workers and the school teachers.

Unions may only represent 8% of the workforce, but they're probably about the most important 8%.

Another option: Can states freeze federal assets in their banks?

Don't listen to the beltway boobs.

Ed Henry was saying the same thing at 10 AM this morning (transcript in earlier post).

He hasn't heard anything new.

Now that Alito has been voted out of the Judiciary, the Pressure is REALLY on!

Like it or not, Senators really don't commit to a decision until they commit (and that is often at the last minute. Sen. Barbara Boxer made her announcement with little time to spare.)
