"Commander In Chief" and "Boston Legal" hitting the issues of the day
CIC: Veteran loses his health care, has a wife dying of cancer who can't get treatment. President has to deal with fund raising, asks Didn't we pass campaign finance reform so we didn't have to do this?

Boston Legal: Invasion of privacy, an HMO puts records on the internet which leads to a battered woman being found and killed by her abusive husband who she'd left

Very interesting

8. Yes, it also has some of the whimsy of Northern Exposure & Ally McBeal
I loved both of those shows.

11. Yes it is! It also is a way to get the info to the young voters.
Sad as it is, people do tend to believe what they see in TV shows. Even though they know it's all written drama, somehow the message tends to stick in their minds.

I guess we all need to thank Hollywood!

18. I'll go along with that!
And I'm enjoying that Brokeback is doing so well, along with other themes the right wouldn't like.

10. Boston Legal
always has good info in their shows. Last week it was the credit industry.
That is the best show.

13. The family part of CIC is what I like least about the show
the kids antics and trials - just kind of unbelievable - or bad acting I'm not sure which.

Geena & Sutherland are superb, but this unfortunately isn't of the caliber of "The West Wing"

16. Yep not WW
and same with you - like Geena and Sutherland but find the kid part a little to campy.

14. Didn't watch CIC, wife did, have it on tape - question
How gleeful was Donald Sutherland's "Republican" character that she might have to kill a veteran?

17. I'm not sure how gleeful he was, but he taunted the President's hubbie
about why was the guy still alive, or didn't she have the guts to give the order to shoot?

Hubbie gave him a look that would kill if looks could, as the saying goes.
