Are the Dems jealous of the Repubs, and the Repubs jealous of the Chinese? |
|
After reading Molly Ivins' latest column about the Dems, the Democrats' utter failure to seize the moment to become the party of reform in DC has got me thinking. I think they're jealous of the K Street project and all the perks the Repubs are getting, and want something similar for themselves, once they're elected. (let's set aside the glaringly obvious problem that by failing to stand up on this issue they're giving '06 to the GOP).
As for the Repubs, I swear they're doing their best to emulate the Chinese. Think about it: in China, there's no dissent, no unions, no free press, and there's tons of money being made by a few while the rest of the population is content to battle over table scraps. This sounds like the model government for the 'unitary executive', especially in our pepetual time of war.
A pox on both their houses.
