Randi just said: "Anyone who goes to church is just screwed." - in |
|
connection to NSA spying. What did she mean? Is she saying that NSA has lists of churchgoers or what? Thanks. :scared:

2. But isn't that *'s "base"? (Not the REAL base of rich people, the FAKE |
|
base of hardworkin', churchgoin' Americans.) If he starts stepping on the toes of RW Christians, he may get himself in trouble.

4. The man admitted breaking the FISA law! Said he'll keep breaking it. |
|
Doubt he is too worried about his 'base' putting two and two together.
And, seems likely not all churches have been infiltrated by NSA agents. The ones who advise people to vote for bush and the GOP war machine are probably safe from being closely watched.
Only the really dangerous ones, like Quakers and other groups pursuing peace, spreading knowledge and working to end poverty and injustice seem to be suspect.
So, if the preacher is doin the gospel of W, folks are fine.
If the preacher insists on preaching the gospel of J.C. they might be some trouble.

|
those other librul church-goers that get surveilled.

3. Did she mean... in the biblical sense? |
|
OH, NSA. Well, yes. If your chruch advocates peace, good works to lessen poverty and increase justice, the NSA is probably keeping a file on you for that highly subversive and dangerous connection with terrists

5. Why would they be spying on church goers? |
|
I would think they'd spy on NON church goers? (that would include yours truly)
Hell, I think they monitor my daily telephone rants anyways...every damned time I start talking about this disadministration I get static and honking noises on my phone--I am not sure I believe they are monitoring me, but it's very weird.
Yesterday I was ranting and we heard someone pick up (like someone picked up another phone in one of the houses) and start dialing - the person I was talking to was alone in their house and so was I, additionally I don't even have a second phone, so it couldn't have been the "when a stranger calls" scenario!
Whatever, they are welcome to haul me off--at least I won't have to worry about the economy and trying to pay my bills!

6. Lots of groups have meeting in churches |
|
Maybe that's what she meant? Like that antiwar group that met in the Quaker meeting hall.
