Michael Isikoff writes in the January 30, 2006 issue of Newsweek about the Pentagon's domestic spying program, CIFA, (Counterintelligence Field Activity). Paul Wolfowitz authorized TALON, Threat and Local Observation Notice, to collect "raw information."Meanwhile, military support to civilian law enforcement needs to comply with the Constitution and U.S. law. The Posse Comitatus Act, 18 USC Sec. 1385 proheibits Federal military personnel from acting in a law enforcemetn capacity in the U.S. unless expressly authorized by the Constitution or Congress. Department of Defense Directive 5525.5 precludes members of the Army, Navy, Air Force or Marine Corps from direct participation in a search, seizure, arrest or similar activity unless authorized BY LAW. So, you know where this is going---WTF, Wolfie? What were you, as Deputy Secy. of Defense doing when you authorized illegal data collection?

This means military traveling to Florida to 'observe' Quakers is not allowed unless we see a revised law?
How do they expect to slither out from this?
