10. she's always like that
every time a Democrat is on any of the MSM show they have to defend themselves from the right wing talking points of the fake journalist,
I use to hear Couric was a liberal, I sure don't see it, for the morning shows Diane Sawyer seems moderate.

really helps to motivate people. It's only demoralizing to see once again that the whore press can push a lie and make most of the country believe it so easily.

6. I stay in this fight...
...because I have two children. And Bush's America is NOT the legacy I want to leave to my children. A legacy of hating those that are different, a legacy of fear and anger and frustration, a legacy of greed and corruption. That's not the world I want my children to inherit, so I'll keep screaming and kicking until they put a bullet in the back of my head ("them", not my children :) )

7. I don't want to quit the democratic party.
The basic core of the party is what I believe in. However, true conservatives have also seen their GOP hijacked by wackos, too. I do want a new group of Senators (and some reps) who actually will fight for the ideals of American and the democratic party. And not roll over.

13. email them
Today,

Katie Couric's assertion that "the Democrats took money from Jack Abramoff too" is either wholly irresponsible or a lie (her own source refutes it), and it would be very refreshing to hear Katie actually "clarify for her viewers" instead of just dedicating lip service to the idea.

24. Done. My email to her.

That was quite a display you put on with Howard Dean. I applaud your ability to parrot the republican spin machine, no matter what the facts may be. And please tell us just WHEN you intend to clarify the facts for your viewers. I expect that it will fall on your TO DO list somewhere below "Support Democrats".

Ms. Couric, I hold you and your reich-wing colleagues responsible for the terrible mess this once great nation has fallen to. Without your continuous mouthing of the lies intended to support George W. (Mad George) Bush, even as far back as 1999, we would not now be in a position where we are governed by a ignorant tyrant who does not believe in the constitution, checks and balances, or the rule of law.

I can only assume that you have a purpose in all this. Is it your intent to act as a counter-republican agent and see that things get so bad in this country that there arises a movement of the masses to overthrow their one party rule? If so you are doing a first rate job. Keep up the good work.

16. She getting way to old to try to flirt her way out of B.S.
Watch the end of the interview .......
Takes off her glasses and flips her hair.

Bush tried to push this nugget in his press conference today ....... look it is both parties.

“If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.” Joseph Goebbels

Edited on Thu Jan-26-06 01:50 PM by saracat
cleared by the FEC? Because they were. And it is a simple phrase. The Democratic Party was cleared by the FEC. And Katie has ALWAYS been a whore. She treated the Clintons badly as well. I can't believe anyone is suprised! Howard and many of the Dems are trying for a united front and message but the other side still has more clout. We need to thank those that fight but I too am discouraged and this only depresses me more. If we don't filibuster, I don't know what I will do. I am not that young I can wait a lifetime for this nation to turn back around. But I will continue to fight for now.

25. Partial transcript for our departing friends...link
Video clip as well.
http://mediamatters.org/items/200601260003

It started when she asked him about the plantation statement by Hillary.

DEAN: "That was something Newt Gingrich also said in 1994, and it was also, or on CNN a year before; but the truth is, the president and the Republicans are abusing their power in Congress. Just the other day, they stuck something in that gave HMOs $22 billion of taxpayers' money. They stuck it in the middle of the night. Nobody knew anything about it, and it passed because nobody knew it was there. That is not the way to run Congress. We ought to have a real democracy in Congress where both sides get listened to, and that's not the way it is right now. The other thing is the corruption scandals in Congress; Tom DeLay; all these folks involved in getting money -- all of whom are Republicans -- from Jack Abramoff. We need to -- an overhaul of Congress in the worst way.

COURIC: Hey, wait a second. Democrats took money -- Democrats took money from Jack Abramoff, too, Mr. Dean.

(she called him Mr. Dean, and said the money was from Abramoff..see below)

DEAN: That is absolutely false. That did not happen. Not one dime of money from Jack Abramoff went to any Repub -- Democrat at any time.

COURIC: According -- let me just tell you. According to the Center for Responsive Politics, Abramoff and his associates gave $3 million to Republican and one -- Republicans -- and $1.5 million to Democrats including Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid . So, this --

DEAN: Katie, not one -- not one dime. Not one dime of Jack Abramoff money ever went to any Democrat. We can show you the FEC reports, we'd be very happy to do it. There is a lot of stuff in the press that the Republican National Committee has been spinning that this is a bipartisan scandal. It is a Republican-financed scandal. Not one dime of money from Jack Abramoff ever went to any Democrat. Not one dime.

COURIC: Well, we will obviously have to look into that and clarify that for our viewers at a -- at a later date."

(I notice the RNC has a memo out now using the words "Abramoff-affiliated money"...and calling Dean a liar so to speak.)

(If you catch them lying, they just change the terminology and lie another way.)
