...the next election? Can you see any weakness in the moderate positions of our DLC Democrats? My intent is nto to start an argument between the leftists and the moderates, but to look at the present predicament with Judge Alito and tell me where the weakness in the Party exists? Sometimes compromise may be the best solution. But sometimes, the only solution is to slug it out. Agree or disagree?

1. I heard a guy make a great analogy. The movie "Cool Hand Luke.
remember the scene when jailhouse bully/top dog George Kennedy picks a fight with Luke?

Even though Luke gets the crap beat out of him by the bigger George Kennedy, he keeps getting back up and refuses to stay down.

After a while, all the other inmates (and even G. Kennedy) are saying, "Just stay down."

Luke won't. He keeps going until he's unconscious.

He lost the fight badly, but he gained the respect of every other inmate and Kennedy, who never tried to punk him again.

Why can't the Democrats get no respect?

You tell me.

2. We have gone way past the point where compromise is acceptable
We give an inch and they take miles (and miles).... every time. How exactly does that benefit our cause? We cannot compromise on some things.... constitutional issues especially. I am tired of wishy washy statements and down right collusion. I want our leaders to fight and fight for what is right instead of apologizing every five minutes.

3. I sure as shit do.....
"Can you see any weakness in the moderate positions of our DLC Democrats?"
No.

"look at the present predicament with Judge Alito and tell me where the weakness in the Party exists"
The far left has been stomping around for weeks, threatening to leave the party and posting slanders about this or that Senator. But it's apparent they haven't made a good public argument for opposing him in the wider world, and that they are unable to reach most Americans...especially since their effort seens to consist of calling Americans "sheeple."

4. OK...
and Judge Alito is OK with you? And what else are you willing to accept from our "moderate" friends as the "far left" stomps around bitching and moaning?

5. That's not the question
For the record, Machine Gun Sammy is not okay with me....but it seems as if the issue didn't generate the sort of outrage in the American public at large that could stop him.

Piss on the far left. They were no fucking help whatsoever again with the general public. And all they did here was single out this or that Democrat to have a little two minute hate about (and not surprsingly, most of the time they singled out the wrong Democrats).
