DURBIN JUST SAID FILIBUSTER HIGHLY UNLIKELY |
|
he's on cspan being interviewed
and was asked about the filibuster
he said being a whip of congress you have to know how to count and he's done a count and a filibuster is (highly?) unlikely.
shit!

6. Such Unbridled Optimism. |
|
I sincerely hope you're right, and that I'm back here apologizing next week. But I think you're just getting your hopes up again, and trying to believe it will work out.
I have seen the trend, and it has not been on our side, and still isn't.

5. They Couldn't Agree On A The Color Of The Sky |
|
If they all had to decide on whether the sky is blue they couldn't do it. Remember that when the party asks for our $$$$$$$$. That's all they really care about, themselves and their wallets.

14. i asked the woman in his dc office |
|
if durbin's job wasn't to rally the troops as well as count the votes?
she said they knew johnson and byrd would vote yes.
i told her chafee, snowe and collins haven't voted yet and asked if she'd heard about them--she hadn't.
i said there is still the chance we can filibuster--tell him i want him to rally the troops.
(sigh)

10. He also said this .... word for word because I wrote it down ..... |
|
"The final vote will be the test vote on our sentiment" (whether to filibuster or not) .... yes he said filibuster unlikely, but nothing STILL has been decided or written in stone. And with all the talk of Kerry out there today leading a possible filibuster, we just don't know the outcome. Keep dialing those phones, faxing, e mailing! We're entering the last few rounds of this fight, and if we're gonna go down we have to go down swinging and giving it everything we got. Peace. :)
