Can "nuclear option" be filibustered ?? |
|
If the Democrats do filibuster, Frist would have to go the "nuclear option"...then we filibuster that also? :) Because they say that votes on judges should not require 60 votes. However, a vote to go to "nuclear option" is a separate vote from the vote on judges per se and would require 60 votes....
Because a vote on "nuclear option" is not a vote on judges and could be filibustered, imo...

1. No a procedural change is not subject to debate and thus not subject |
|
to a cloture vote. It only requires a simple majority.

4. Only through additional procedural methods |

Certainly the rules of the senate allow for major disruption.

6. Is it a matter of "meticulous following of all the Rules"? That will |

Let 'em go for it...
That should come in very handy to roll back some of their taxcuts, etc, once we win back the House and Senate. Or can we not make a procedural change?

3. No. Procedural change is a "simple majority" 51 vote action. |
