surprised. I went to our storage locker today. The fellow in the business office, whom I'd assumed to be a bush supporter, started spouting off about it today. Boy did he ever! He asked how I was. I said fine (the usual opening niceties) and he commented that he remembered I'd been "kind of upset" about some of the lighting the last time I was there. I wasn't, and told him I was a little annoyed about it, but that doesn't make me upset. The direction the country is going is what's making me upset. That did it! MAN did he go off like a roman candle - how bush is the worst president we've EVER HAD, he's an absolute disgrace, an asshole, the worst he's ever seen in all his life. As you can imagine, he and I had a sincere and enthusiastic meeting of the minds there! I offered a little encouragement to him about how I was never going to give up nagging about IMPEACHMENT and that I always liked to remind people that IMPEACHMENT IS an option. He was disgruntled and said it was no use, these people don't do a f---ing thing, and it's just a disgrace, all of it. So I encouraged him a little more and told him he shouldn't give up because a LOT of us are working toward that now, and more all the time. As he was walking me to the elevator, he said he never thought anybody would make Nixon look good, but that "this asshole makes Nixon look like a prince!" Those were his words. Not mine.
So do yourself (and all the rest of us good guys all over the country) a favor. If the opportunity presents itself, strike up a conversation. See where it leads you - more than likely to a fellow good guy, or maybe a discouraged, disenchanted, soon-to-be-FORMER bad guy. A little encouragement can go an awfully long way, especially since I get the VERY definite sense that too many other people out there feel isolated and helpless. If they only knew how many of us are out there pushing and nagging and working and phoning and petitioning and complaining and writing and aggitating, maybe they'd A) feel better and more optimistic and/or B) feel as though maybe, just maybe, all is NOT completely lost. You may give someone hope today. You may give another soon-to-be-EX GOPer encouragement to go through with it - come out from the shadows and defect. It could VERY easily be that they just feel like they're alone and there's no one else out there but bushbots and no one else understands or, heaven forbid, shares their views. LET THEM KNOW THAT'S JUST NOT SO!!! EVERYBODY can use a little calcium supplement for their backbones. Not just the invertebrates that purport to "represent" us and "fight for our interests."
The original apostles were just a dozen guys (give or take a Judas). Look what they built just by talking to people...
