The Democrats Don't Exist |

The Democrats Don't Exist
You heard me! As far as this miadministration goes, the Democrats are totally irrelevant - they don't exist.
Conyers and Waxman can write a zillion letters to * et al, but these thugs have such arrogance, that they don't even feel the need to respond.
Democrats want a "hearing" on wire tapping? Well, even though the congress is not even in session, they are told there are no rooms, so they had to go to the basement for their "forum."
Democrats can talk about the rule of law all they want, but the thugs are saying "we can't hear you" (fingers in ears). We don't need no stinkin' law and if there is one, we just change it. No Democrats, you don't exist.
Well lets show these thugs just how much we DON'T exist. At the SOTU, the Democrats should walk out, preferably on the first lie * tells * (shouldn't take long).
So you thugs, we don't exist? Now we will disappear to show the American people that we don't. Let the thugs deal with this one!
edit: usual stuff

1. I appreciate your sentiment, |
|
but there's nothing the American people hate more than their President, no matter who he is, being disrespected. So, while your idea is appealing, it's not going to happen. I do understand, though, why you'd want it to.
What we need to do now, as citizens, is start looking for Democratic candidates to support come November, and we have to start working our asses off for them. The simple truth is that the Democrats currently in Congress are ineffectual, compromised, impotent, and not worthy of one more term.
We've got to get good people elected, we have to become the majority party in Congress. I happen to believe that's even more important than electing a Democrat as President.

4. I agree. I just want to make a statement that will wake up America. |
|
Of course, I want the Dems to get in in November and will vote that way, but it's not so much the Dems I am angry with - it's * and his thugs constantly marginalizing the Dem party, like they don't even exist.
I am so depressed by this. This is NOT the America I grew up in.
I remember as a teen reading 1984 and thinking what "fiction" is was....no more, now I am seeing it up-close and personal and can't believe that this is my country.

This is NOT my America, either, and I bet I'm a lot older than you.
My 86-year-old mother said yesterday that she never thought she'd live to see the day when her country was in such ruins.
Grassroots. That's where we've got to go now. The top people are all lost to us, on both sides. There is no Democratic leadership, there is no emerging leadership, and there certainly is no backbone in anyone in the Democratic part of Congress.
I think they're hoping that the Abramoff scandal will somehow sanctify them and make them electable, but I'll never forget those weasels who left Jack Murtha out there all by himself when he came forward and did the courageous and correct thing.
Weasels.

I am 58...bet I got you beat.
My mother is 91 and she is not real political, but Catholic to the max. So the other day she says to me "You know Alito is Catholic; he seems like a nice man." I almost punched the wall. Hello??? This isn't 1962 and Alito is NO JFK. I just mentioned the Unitaty Executive and she didn't even know what I was talking about. She is still living in the days where Catholics were mostly Dems. So sad.
As far as grassroots goes...thank God for Howard Dean. He knows how to start from the bottom up in getting Dems to run at the local level and then on up.
In a way, I am glad I am 58, because I don't know how much longer I can take these fascists.

My mother is Jewish. She's even to the left of me. But, I think most people are like your mother, going on his appearance.
I'm no fan of Howard Dean's. I don't think he's got it.
But, yeah, it's good to be our ages, for a whole bunch of reasons.
Watch to see what happens with Abramoff - I think you're going to love it.
Peace, honey. It'll be all right.

could never produce the results you seek. That's why we are at this dead end in the first place. If you are looking for heroes, look around you and at yourself. That message will have to come from all of us. When we find our voice, our leaders will stand out - old and new.

...on getting them elected when the Republicans control the voting machines and will DIE before they let the Democrats regain Congress. I just cannot understand ANY democrats who actually think the electoral process is the way to fight back. The country is asleep while it has been stolen from us. WAKE UP SHEEPLE!!!!

3. The Repugs have successfully pushed the "sports" metaphor to the point |
|
that it's the Winning Team that counts. Dominate the opponent, whether it's the Democrats in Congress, the Islamists or the Sissy French. The idea of coalition, collaboration and cooperation around the world or across the aisle is forgotten, because that's not what winning is all about.
