Teachers praying for childrens welfare

BAKERSFIELD - When it comes to education, districts around Kern County continue to search for better ways to teach kids.

Especially in impoverished areas where many children are working to learn English and excel in academics.

But, a small group of teachers decided to take matters in their own hands and after years of low test scores have made tremendous strides in helping some East Bakersfield students meet their goals and succeed.

There is a battle going on at Williams Elementary School, crime and violence surrounds the campus everyday, sometimes students are met with written reminders.

But, inside the classroom teachers are fighting back through prayer.
