Bush's Thursday Press Conference and deja vu - today's cartoon
Today after Bush gave his stonewalling to the lapdogs of the capital press corps, I wrote this one, and we got in online for Friday. Had to bounce the one we had scheduled for today, in favor of this one.

Party stalwarts, you'll know why it's deja vu.

Yes, I'm back. Very good toon. I'd suggest a higher hairline for ole Tricky. Just a humble suggestion.

8. Nixon must be spinning in his grave.
He never dreamed of pulling the crap Bush has pulled.

12. Nixon had a sense of history, and appreciation for our system.
Even though he did some really bad things, he looked like a choir boy compared to Bush.

15. He looks like Shirley Temple compared to Bush.
That's the ugly thing. They have no real love for who we are or have been or were.

They are not attached to that thing, "America" in any way.

It may undo them.

9. I can't believe I miss Nixon, BARRY GOLDWATER!
I MAY EVEN MISS GEORGE WALLACE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

At least they were men with ideas, no matter how wrong -- instead of puppets backed by the Groomed Mob.

14. You are so right. Goldwater would never have allowed all this.
Can you imagine that old school conservative throwing a fit about deficit spending, foreign entanglements, and domestic spying?

20. Can you imagine any of those men allowing Katrina
to turn one of our most treasured cities into a toxic cesspool and never bothering to honor the dead?

I better get some sleep.

23. Good cartoon !
I always thought Reagan was even worse than Nixon. Reagan just got away with everything unscathed. I think the propaganda machine worked better for Reagan and Bush1, and there was no popular outcry about Iran/Contra and all the other Reagan scandals. Once the repugs figured out they could lie, cheat and steal without any repercussions, they became much more dangerous. The result, after eight years of sanity under Clinton, is the Bush2 regime.

Thanks Neil. Keep up ther good work!
