My response to a "support the troops" email from repub & reply! |

My response to a "support the troops" email from a republican friend (loaded with drawings of ribbons, pictures of troops and remember 9/11 slogans)
Love the troops! Hate the cowardly Washington whores using them for the wrong reasons. Always hiding behind the troops and 9/11 to serve their own selfish needs. I wish we had captured or killed Osama been forgotten, because I certainly remember 9/11. (I live in NYC) But I should trust my King and saviour GWB and the Neo-Republicans to play games with the lives of the troops and American citizens because they are turning out to be so Moral and Ethical! Real love is more than blind flag waving. "Those who would give up Essential Liberty to purchase a little Temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety. " - Benjamin Franklin "The war made possible for us the solution of a whole series of problems that could never have been solved in normal times." - Joseph Paul Goebbels (1897-1945) Nazi Propaganda Minister

easy there buddy ... both parties do the same shit
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------- My Response to his Reply
Great defense! Maybe Bush should use that one for his State of the Union Speech. You know, there is still a difference between Shoplifting and Armed Robbery. It's a matter of degree. There comes a point where the "everybody does this shit" really doesn't cut it. But at least you are starting to acknowledge the stink coming from the Republican Party and that's refreshing. Haven't seen that many indicted Democrats lately.

:eyes: When you hit them with reality, they always fall back on the "everyone does it" defense. What a bunch of losers.

3. Except that this Republican controlled Congress has completely |
|
abandoned any pretense of oversight of this Republican president. When was the last time that happened?

4. But the party doing it right now is the one that must be stopped. |
|
The "everyone does it" response is juvenile.

5. you got him on the ropes |
|
challenge him to cite a time in the past when a Democratically controlled Congress let the president take absolute power. Ask him exactly which Democratic president ignored memos about imminant danger from planes flying into buildings. Ask him if he agrees with this sort of thing-and if not, why in the world he's not supporting clean candidates in his primary to unseat the corrupt and inefficient legislators.

It's one of my favorite things to start a serious discussion about a mass-forwarded email. Poor republican! He wasn't ready for that! "Uh oh...this is now going to require that I have a logical opinion...easy there buddy!!!"
