Anyone watching the Gaza Fatah election protest on CNN? |
|
They have guns, and they outnumber the police.
Dire situation.

3. CNN says there's danger involved. |
|
Setting cars on fire, shooting into the air.
Ben Wiedeman had to find cover. He's back on the air, but you can hardly hear him.
Fatah members blame their leadership for not doing a better campaign job. That sounds familiar, doesn't it?
They're also surrounding Abbas' house. He's not home, though.

How exactly does this differ from other protests in the occupied territories?

Is it just me or are dire situations starting to speed up around the world. I mean things have always been dire but it gets darker and darker. What really gets me about all this is ...China. They took Walk Softly and carry a big stick to a art. They are making progress around the world why we are stomping around around like a bunch of Nazis.

4. Daryn Kagan hasn't mentioned China. (Just joking with you.) |
|
You're right. The global situation is dire, and China and Russia are poised to do exactly what the west feared during the Cold War: bury us economically. Russia is making deals with Iraq & Iran, and China is selling us billions of tons of plastic crap every day.

8. Russia is *not* going to bury us economically |
|
China may make a run for it, but Russia cannot. What prosperity they have is funneled away by corrupt aparatchiks, greedy businessmen or is exported by international investors. They still have double digit inflation in Russia. Once the price for oil goes down, or once they run out, Russia will lose what little it has gained.

6. You know, I realize there is more to Hamas than the terrorism |

arm of the group, but, if I were a member of the Fatah Party, I don't think I'd be fucking with Hamas. That's just me, though.

7. DU is suddenly running slowly (at least, for me). |
|
Andrea Koppel is reporting this is not good news for Bush.
Wiedeman's feed was cut off, so we're just getting domestic reporters blabbing.
The protestors are Fatah party men now out of work, says CNN.

12. Yes, Sir. If you stop to think about it Andrea is not reporting news... |
|
...when she says this is bad for Bush. She is reporting her opinion at best. And at worst it sounds like she was put over there to say what she was told to say. I think CNN does that a whole lot.
I remember when they were reporting on the Orange revolution in Ukraine and thinking to myself this sure looks like a Hollywood production to me. They never reported that the Orange Revolution went belly up a few months later.
