Gulf City, Florida
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.

Gulf City is an abandoned unincorporated, rural town site in Hillsborough County, Florida, United States, near Ruskin. Gulf City was some 40 miles (60 km) from Tampa, Florida, on the south bank of the Little Manatee River, at 27°42′20″N, 82°27′43″W.

Gulf City was founded by British pirate Ben Margoza in the mid-17th century. It went into decline in the 19th century. In 1895 it was listed as having a population of 76 people, and a post office. Gulf City was completely abandoned by or shortly after the 1920s.

The site of Gulf City is now Hillsborough County property. While it was formerly connected by road to Tampa via a bridge over the Little Manatee River, the bridge is gone and the site of Gulf City cannot be reached by road.

...a stupid ass congresswoman who is known as the dumbest woman in Washington, DC.
You could say, as far as being a democrat, that I truly have no representation.

9. Yes, your reps are all evil bigots. That's the point of the exercise...
Imagine if 1,000 progressive Democrats and their families all moved into their district at once?

And we all voted and volunteered and worked to elect other progressive candidates?

Imagine 1,000+ progressive activists re-locating at once?

Imagine moving thousands of disinfranchised, disenchanted Katrina evacuees to a swing-district in a swing-state? Registering them to vote and getting mobilized on the streets campaigning?

Jeb is soon moving to DC... In history, when Emperors die or retire, a relative usually replaces them.

4. Hey, I Know Where That Is... BUT I Live In Sarasota County!
My husband was born in Tampa, which used to be "big" for Democrats, but not now! Considering that, I think it might be hard to turn the place into a Democratic haven!

Would be very nice though. Having just seen Molly Ivins this AM on C-Span, I did hear quite a few callers who stated they were moderates or Goldwater Repubs and quite angry with The Idiot, maybe MSM will catch up with the unrest someday!!!

I'm not holding my breath, but the Democrats had better get cracking and showing some spine, like YESTERDAY!!! Perhaps some of those wavering Repubs will come on over!

However, MOST people were advocating a THIRD PARTY... even Dems!

15. while I have personally always favored a 3rd party
Now is not the time!!! A third party will not cost the goose-stepping repukes much support at all but will fragment the opposition to a large extent. On the other hand, maybe if we started a neo-Nazi third party we could erode repuke support.

10. Could be a good experiment - If we could get a thousand people
to move there temporarily (enough time to register), on the sly. Then of course, we ALL vote against the repig, and see what the results are.

13. what a great way to show
ELECTION FRAUD, (not "voter" fraud) Voter Fraud is a misnomer like USA Patriot Act. We could prove election fraud too! What a neat idea! I'd like having DUers for neighbors. Count me in!
