If not Impeachment, how do the dems think will they be able to do their
job in congress?

Bush Reasserts Presidential Prerogatives
By Jim VandeHei
The Washington Post

Friday 27 January 2006

Eavesdropping, Katrina probe cited as concerns.
President Bush set limits yesterday on White House cooperation in three political disputes, saying he is determined to assert presidential prerogatives on such matters as domestic eavesdropping and congressional inquiries into Hurricane Katrina.

In a mid-morning news conference, Bush told reporters he is skeptical of a proposed law imposing new oversights on his use of the National Security Agency to listen in on electronic communications. He also said that he will block White House aides from testifying about the slow federal response to Hurricane Katrina, and that he will not release official White House photos of himself with former Republican lobbyist Jack Abramoff.

1. The upside to no impeachment
bush and his administration will continue to fuck up until their last day in office. I have every confidence. They are up to shit now that we won't know about for months. Between now and November 2008, bush will be in a position to put the gop in a permanent minority status for decades. He's just that good. We just have to have patience and the stomach for he and his kind to do what they do best.

4. I agree. This is a good week for those Rpublican bastards
But one good week does not a year make. Well except on Ganymade 11, but that's sort of a special case.

8. He's had over 200 bad weeks
and they will continue. What has he originated which has been good for the country? Zip. Zero. Nada. The cluster of dna and barbara bush tissue has been nothing but a failure since he was born; and that act will continue as he continues to be surrounded by enablers. They have to work overtime to keep us from knowing what he has done or who he has met.

2. Simple. Call hearings on all the illegalities, and prevent passage
of ANY of Shrub's proposals!

I agree with Molly Ivans on the "No Impeachment" thing. The impeachment of Clinton was just stupid! The reason was insignificant and it wasted a whole lot of $$ and time for NOTHING!

I don't think the reasons for a Shrub Impeachment are insignificant, but I do think this PAYBACK crap has to stop!

Both sides are playing it and it's very bad for America.

I think letting Shrub in office but demoralized and impotent for his last 2 years would be much more harmful than throwing him out, and his last term in office will be in all the history books forever!!!!

forthcoming with information, nor will the GOP controlled congress push for this.

To me this is not about payback, it is about the equal powers of the three arms of government, which is being endangered and in fact executed.

13. No of course not, but when the Dems take back control of the
House and Senate there will be!

If I didn't make myself clear, I meant AFTER the Dems take back control!

6. I share your wishes, but...
...what makes you think they aren't controlling the companies who write the history books? Especially after they've already tried to take over PBS, NPR, and the blogosphere.

7. You're 100% correct, both strategically and rationally.....
And 95% of the folks here want revenge so much they can't see it. The worst revenge is a crippled, wimpy, meaninless final 2 years, hated and despised by the people he governs with a strenghtened Democratic party in congress.

Besides, no one who will take his place before the 2008 election will be a damn bit better.

9. I agree that none of the successors are better. However with an
impeachment and possible fallout from the Abramaoff case, we do have just one shot at cleaning up and bring more balance. Otherwise, I am afraid they will just be more emboldened to do as they please, and I am not sure whether the dems have a chance at anything, to even sway public opinion, especially watching the major media outlets spewing falsehoods every day.

14. Absofunkinglutely! Hmmm, is that a word?
I like it though!

I feel the same way about making him suffer in office as I do about the death penalty. It's a much more difficult penalty to endure long term punsihment than a quick death, wether it be political or physical!

A long, hard painful death is uch worse!
