Clinton minister faces sexual charges against 12- year- old

Headlines like this just piss me off.
Could have been written a lot of different ways.

WARSAW — A Clinton man and pastor of a church in Duplin County has been charged with having sexual relations with a 12-year-old girl who frequented the church’s day care operated by the pastor’s wife, according to Duplin County Sheriff’s authorities. The sex acts reportedly occurred on multiple occasions from March to December 2005 and the girl is now pregnant and expecting to give birth within the next week, authorities said.

Thomas Lindell Robinson, 56, of 2041 Old Warsaw Road, Clinton, has been charged with first-degree rape of a child and taking indecent liberties with a child. Robinson was taken into custody on Jan. 13 and is currently under $1 million bond.

Robinson, a resident of Clinton, is pastor at New Life Christian Center on Pete Quinn Road in Warsaw. The 12-year-old girl is a resident of Duplin County.

1. A little damage control going on there.
And Don't let people tell you that isn't what's going on with that sort of thing.

3. Geeze, how about "A Clinton resident"
Instead of "a clinton man". They've got to know to be delicate with phrasing...Is there a town called Bush I wonder?

4. What's all the hubbub bub?
I don't see any reason to get upset about this. In fact the wording of this sort of article in this type of paper is rather common throughout the country. It is a small town, regional paper that probably cover several small burgs. The identified the man in the headline with where he lived, and what his profession was. He lived in Clinton, he was a minister. I see the same sort of headline in my small town paper all the time. No need to be hypersensitive about this, they've probably been writing the same sort of headline for decades now.
