My hypothesis re: Tweety
He's got really insufferable lately. Keith Olberman is on a roll. Are these shoe 1 and shoe 2? I think that maybe the MSNBC producer had a little chat with them and gave them both longer leashes, in the name of "fairness". They figure, MSNBC is going to get a lot more polarized, in order to get more people to watch. My 2 cents.

1. Tweety is a Republican shill at heart.
Olberman is for the people.

3. and the brother of a Republican candidate (Lt. Gov. Pennsylvania)
Hmmm, wonder how much money Tweety is getting for his brother's campaign coffers with his RW bias.

2. Is it just Tweety?
MSNBC has boxed Olbermann in between the DINO Tweety, Rita Cosby, Scarborough, and Tucker Carlson. I guess Dan Abrams who comes on earlier in the day is fairly liberal on many issues, including his position on the Bush domestic surveillance controversy. I saw Abrams really tear into Bush in fact a few days ago on this issue. Unfortunately, fewer watch Abrams' show that Tweety's, which means no one watches it. But if you look at the overall line-up, I don't think MSNBC is unleashing Tweety and Olbermann as shoes #1 and #2 in the interset of balance and more dramatic entertainment value. MSNBC is getting more unbalanced towards the right every day. I also wonder if Matthews and Olbermann get along. I have a feeling that Matthews sort of dislikes Olbermann and prefers Tucker Carlson and Joe Scarborough. Has Olbermann ever been on Matthews' show? (Since I don't watch it much anymore, I don't know) Olbermann may just be reacting to Matthews' growing whorish behavior.

4. That's true, KO always tries to introduce Rita in a friendly way, whereas
Tweety is decidedly cold when anouncing Countdown. I don't think that KO and Tweety get along. Things like this are usually mutual. KO may well be pushing the envelope lately because of the right swing of Tweety. If this goes on, something has got to break. KO will be sacked for some reality law show, like that Grace woman on CNN. That would do it for me. No more TV.

6. He wrote a book about Kennedy & Nixon, sympathetic to Nixon....
and coming from an Irish-Catholic of a certain age (Matthews), that SCREAMS volumes at me in terms of where his true allegiances lie. How insane do you have to be, to be an Irish Catholic from fucking Philadelphia of all places (my hometown), and be a NIXON LOVER???? Over Kennedy???? I know so many sweet ladies in Philly who still have framed pictures of JFK hanging in their kitchens!!

He is a shill for the RW, he just used to be able to hide it a bit better.

Fuck Tweety.

8. nah - tweety thinks he has to talk tough
because the wingnuts have no respect for him. They all think he's part of the librul media and he's desperate to prove he is a big tough r/w icon like limpballs or o'lielly. But he's not. You can just sense the desperation in his voice and body language on the clips.

Perhaps the reason pukes mistrust him is that he was a former staffer for a big time Dem congressman (actually Tip O'Neill IIRC), and applied for a job as a Clinton speechwriter. I gather he was rejected for this position in a rather highhanded manner and has had a hardon for the Dems ever since.

He has no credibility with either side. Nobody watches his dumbass show. Ignore him, he's a joke.

9. Tweety's lifestyle requires a heap of moolah
How many houses does he own? Hasn't been that long ago that he bought a 4.4 million dollar home at Nantucket to add to his list.
