Bob Schieffer (CBS) just blew a great opportunity.
He's chatting with the Coward as the Coward continues the PR offensive and he brings up the subject of partisanship and ugly politics. Says things have gotten worse altho the Coward promised to make things better.

So he says to the Coward: "What happened." And the Coward b lathwers about how disappointed he is as though it's beyond his control. And Schieffer says something like "well you folks were as nasty as the other side".... Instead of saying, "Well, a lot of people would point to the attacks by you folks (Cheney in particular) on the patriotism of those who disagreed with your policies."

MSM is totally neutered, at best.

E. R. Murrow must roll over in his grave at least hourly.

1. The MSM is worthless.
Who is this "coward" you speak of?

3. The Coward who's afraid to allow Helen Thomas ...
to ask questions.

The Coward who ran away from serving in Vietnam.

The Coward who's afraid of meeting with Cindy Sheehan.

Got it?

4. So how was Schieffer's demenor towards Bush?
Was he all friendly and rolling over and giggling, ala Chris Matthews, or was he acting serious?

5. He was serious, but not aggressive.
Basically just like the NBC twit a few weeks ago.

You don't really think anyone can be as bad as tweety, do you?

6. I was not expecting Scheiffer to anything as bad as Tweety.

Schieffer is much better than Tweety.
Though I wish he did call Bush out on the one point mentioned by the OP.

7. I'll have to admit it was disappointing.
Bob Schieffer can be a tough "nice guy," but perhaps it can be intimidating when you're on the other guy's (I hate to say it) home court. Also, there were some strange edits.

8. Shit
I forgot *asshat was going to be on the news tonight. That's my time to play with the snakes. I don't want them getting scared by his ugly face. Snakes are very sensitive creatures.

9. I listened to his opening sentences and left.
There wasn't any point in staying and listening to a lot of hot air and lies.
