It looks as if Bush and Rove have pulled a page from the Nixon book of criminal conduct. If you recall during the Ellsberg break-in case Nixon send his staff out to offer the judge on the case a seat on the supreme court. The case fell apart and no one was convicted.
Now we have Bush offering a judges chair to the chief prosecutor in the Abramoff case. This is so blatantly criminal that it begs the imagination. The question is will the American people see this for what it is, bribery. Or, will they just go on to accept it and watch as the corrupt politicians continue to sell the government to the highest bidder?

Every time I see Bush talking about how his spy program is perfectly legal and it doesn't violate civil liberties, he just doesn't understand why people don't believe him!!
And yet, we've seen several recent polls that show that people don't trust or believe him and based on his track record, it doesn't inspire confidence either.
At this point, you have to wonder why he thinks we should believe him!!

In the case of the Pentagon papers, the offer to the judge was not the reason the charges were dropped. But it sure signaled the weasal-like nature of the administration.
