Starting Threads - Don't Feed the Freepers! (One Man's Opinion)...

I'm on the Freeper board, Hannity's board & a few local freep-type forums (Rush doesn't have the balls to host his own forum, let alone join the USO show & go to Iraq -- like Al Franken).

Freepers hunt down every lame rhetorical DU thread in order to make political hay -- using them as license to ignore thoughtful threads.

They quote the DU's simplistic rants in order to disparage & dismiss the Democratic movement at large.

I love posting a flaming zinger to a thread as much as anyone here; but when I start a thread, I want to have some substance for everyone to consider.

I find it amusing to read the DU troll boards that attempt to "anal-ize" what is posted here with lame attempts at both logic and humor. The harder they try, the bigger fools they make of themselves, the more I laugh at them...thus they've served a positive purpose in my life.

The most frivolous or ridiculous threads from DU may be quoted there, but we all recognize that as the crippled tactic of pleasing and coralling their base audience. Same shit happens here like low-intensity tribal warfare, so we're probably even in that regard. Well maybe not - over here, there is usually reasoned counterpoint to shoddily conceived ridiculousness.

On the most valuable issues, our positions and reasoned arguments for holding those positions, are clearly dominant to theirs.

On the silliest topics, our variety and anti-homogenized mindset is clearly dominant to their square fuddyduddiness.

The only exception I can think of to this rule are the conspiracy theories, but those are not really a left/right thing to begin with.
