benazir bhutto of pakistan held a press conference yesterday... |
|
i was cleaning and being distracted with that when she was on but the t..v.. was on and i could hear her speaking ... i seem to have picked up the fact she believes that musharaff's government, the military government, is wrong for pakistan; i seem to have picked up that she believes they instill fear on their people just so that they can stay in power; i seem to have picked that she believes that the bush government is good and i am going crazy, or she is, because dear benazir bhutto...there is no difference between what bush and musharaff are doing, each, to their own people. musharaff is wrong for pakistan. bush is wrong for america!

I really admire that lady and the hardships she's had to endure. I haven't heard her name in a long time and glad she's speaking out.

3. Do you know anything about her? |
|
Sure, she was the first female head of state of a Muslim nation, but she turned out to be just as corrupt and incompetent as the men. That's true equality, I guess.
Shame, though. She is a remarkably beautiful woman.

5. Considering The System... |
|
I'm not so certain if Ms. Bhutto was an corrupt as the Generals who preceded her or Musharaf's regime of today. I've followed the Bhutto family since her father was Prime Minister and lost his life attempting to do some real reform.
We talk about there being a glass ceiling in our society when it comes to women and power...imagine how it is in an Moslem nation...especially one with a long history of military government. While she's no saint, he represented a real change that was both indigenous and genuine...a far cry from the sham "democracies" this regime and its neo-con allies have tried to impose on that region (and failed miserably).
Cheers...
