Anybody recall those old Furby talking toys? A SOTU idea: |
|
I inadvertently disturbed one of the kid’s old Furbys late one night while turning out lights. That thing started prattling on and on and on. Later, I thought how amusing it might be to have that “Furby-speak” dubbed on the audio signal with the pResident’s SOTU message.
Of course if you’ve never heard one of these things go off, you could not appreciate how ridiculous it all is. But think about other little pithy bits from songs and movies that could be dubbed along with the SOTU ala MST3K style, for example, Monty Python’s “I wave my private parts in your general direction,” or “Neep-neep-neep” etc.
How about a list of some others? And just how could this be achieved, anyway? I think I could watch *'s SOTU if there was a promise of something like this dubbed in.

1. Are you suggesting that Rove feed Furby-speak to Bush |
|
Through his transmitter?
And how would we know, since he ALWAYS sounds like he's speaking Furby?
;)

2. No, but that's funny; imagine *'s face at work. Let * speak, but unknown |
|
to him, the TV and radio audio that everyone hears would have interspersed comments--ridiculous or otherwise. Might be entertaining, maybe even stress-relieving (I could go for that).

3. Especially if they were translating his Orwellian "newspeak" |
|
So when he says "peace" the translator says "war" and when he says "security" the translator says "fear" etc.
